Sao Miguel is a wonderful place to visit if you appreciate nature and kind people. It is the largest in Azores. We didn’t get to explore all the beautiful places, but plan on coming back in the summer.Lagoa do Fogo had most amazing view and picture can’t justify the true beauty of it. Furnace was wonderful. Had lots of fun watching hot springs. Sete Cidades is on the west side and it has amazing views. Ponta Delgada- Sao Sebastião had a beautiful town that was decorated for Christmas. So glad we rented a car and explored the island. Can’t wait to come back. Ilha de Sao Miguel in Açores Ilha in Portugal you do not disappoint! The cool Ponta Delgado harbour, Miradouros (all are equipped with charcoal bbqs), the villages of Capelas, Ponta da Bretanha, Mosteiros, Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo, Vista do Rei on the edge of the volcanic crater, Miradouro da Pedras Negras, Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park, Cha Gorreana Tea Factory, Nordeste, Povoação, Furnas. The amazing volcanic rock giving artistry to all the landscapes, the cool stone hedges and so many cows along the way, the lush green landscapes, mountains, the narrow roads, and delicious foods. Definitely going back when the hydrangeas are in bloom, as they are grown wildly and are so beautiful. All we had to do was drive 15 minutes and we could be on the coast or in the mountains, surrounded by greenery or surrounded by fog or surrounded by hydrangeas. 💞 Obrigado to the kind Portuguese people we met along the way! I AM COMING BACK TO VISIT when the Hydrangeas are in bloom!! This was not what I expected it to be. We spent a week on the and we managed to dive 9 times, go on several walks and drive across the at least 4 times. There's so much to do! Tea plantation, lakes, view points every 5km, diving spots, geocaching, hot springs...the options are endless. Renting a car is unfortunately necessary. I hope the public transport will improve over time. Oh, and try the seafood. It is worthy. Can't wait to go back there! This is ideal for people who love calm environments. There are plenty of natural places to visit and enjoy the presence of green in every part of the island. It's a paradise on earth. Probably one of my best holidays ever. Amazing climate (July) fantastic scenery and awesome waterfalls. The hiking trails are just from another planet.... highly recommend, to relax or to explore !!! After days of exploring through mountains and valleys, and enjoying the food and wine, we have found a place where we can escape from our long winter. To all of the good people along the way, obrigado! The biggest and most rewarding to visit in azores. Lots of places to visit and discover. You can hike, dive, bath in hot springs, enjoy a boat ride, wale watching etc... Don't forget to try the local food. Most beautiful very lush hydrangea flowers growing all along the sides of the roads , very clean great food and inexpensive. Biggest blue marlins in the world for fishing our team released a marlin over 900 lbs the first day and caught 4 more big ones we are headed back again to explore the other islands follow me on Instagram Carey Chen Art Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
