This is well a visit. It is modest in size but contains a few interesting exhibits indoors. But the more attractive aspect is the towers. One can climb up to the top of the two towers, which are not very tall, but offer nice views of the town of Loulé and give a good impression of the how the historic or fort was built. One notable item in the inside exhibition was some bones said to date back 227 million years, belong to a creature which is not known anywhere else in the world. To gain access is very little, staff do tell you that there is the exhibitions to see and the walls, (in case you’re looking for a full tour). Not much for kids by the way, though toilet is on the ground floor. Well a visit if you find yourself in Loule. Entry fee is nominal.
