Billies Drive Thru

Bandon, Ireland Family restaurant

Chicken was small and pretty boring. Daughters burger looked terrible and the drinks "medium" were tiny. People around us were having roast beef options and that looked a far better choice but the chipper type food was terrible. The drive through looked chaotic and not running smoothly. Overall this was a bad experience and I wouldn't go back. Chips are poor but the sausages and burgers were good. Service was disinterested. Not too expensive. This is the first place we ate in Ireland. The food I got was unique. I got a batter burger. I had never gotten a batter burger but I loved it. My wife got the roast beef and it was delicious. We can't figure out how dire this place is considering how busy it gets, the food really poor quality, chips just very greasy, meat of poor quality, not clean delph none available at the time had to use paper fork and plastic knife, then when they were put out noticed all not clean looking so continued with paper fork, kids meal drink very small and again poor quality drinks, expensive for a family of 4 pay a bit extra and go somewhere with higher standard. Also flies all in the eating area never a good sign. Awful, like, awfully awful. The only thing this place has going for it is the chips. E6 for a kids meal which is absolutely TINY. "Homemade goujons" my back side. And they were all sliced down the middle to check they were cooked, the sign of a low quality line cook, no one with experience here for sure, they were also overly dry and crispy. Vol au vent was a chickenless, flavourless pile of gloop. Pizza.....is that what that was? Cheddar cheese with some premade flatbread. Like, I'm a big lad, and not overly fussy, but this was €60 utterly wasted. Staff seemed disinterested at best. Will NOT be back. The food is excellent and to our surprise the cost of food is amazing value for money If you're brave enough try billies half pounder You won't need anything else it's huge and full of flavour. Great spot to eat !!! Great spot. Quick service. Dropped a star because I got home and my garlic cheese chips were curry cheese chips by mistake. The woman who served us at the till was moody and abrasive, not what you would expect as a front of house in a business. Myself and my partner were taken aback by her demeanour. We got food to go as we were on the road. The chips were the best part of the meal and we did enjoy them, but our breast in bun burger meats were dry and cold, truthfully felt like they were reheated or left under a lamp too long, which is shocking considering there are signs everywhere stating the food is prepared to order. The burgers had potential, if they were freshly cooked.
