Beautiful national park. Nice trek to hike with beautiful and surreal scenery Hiked from Theth to the mountain pass and back on May 4th—easily one of the most rewarding hikes I’ve done in Albania. It took about 4 hours to reach the pass, including a few short breaks to catch my breath and enjoy the scenery. The way up is pretty much constant uphill, so make sure you’re in reasonably good shape. The return took around 2.5 hours going at a steady pace. The weather was absolutely perfect—clear skies, mild temps, and not too windy at the top. The trail is fully open this time of year, and we barely saw anyone else along the way, which made it feel peaceful and remote. The views are insane the entire route—snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, and dramatic rock formations all around you. The path is well-marked and easy to follow. No need for special equipment, but good hiking shoes and plenty of water are a must. I’d recommend starting early if the forecast is warm. Overall, it’s a solid workout with an incredible payoff. If you’re in Theth and up for a challenge, don’t miss this hike. The pass view is unforgettable and totally worth the climb. Theth was amazing! The mountains, the green, everything was so peaceful. It is very touristy, and the prices are insane in some of the shacks where you buy snacks or drinks, which is partly understandable, but still feels like getting ripped off. We quite easily got a bus to and from Theth National Park which is a huge bonus. The views are incredible, there are gorgeous hikes and waterfalls. I only visited for 2 days which is not enough time, so planning to go back for longer to experience more eg the blue eye hike. The guest houses are beautiful with very friendly staff and delicious traditional food. Incredibly affordable experience and the village is so beautiful and authentic. Great place for a nice hike. Roads are good in general but with space for 1 car at a time, many many curves and people drive like crazy. Was a very stressful journey.
