It’s simple with no bells and whistles. For me this is fab. It was quiet when I visited. Nice little cafe down the road but we didn’t get to visit on this occasion. We walked to the west and it was consistently easy going and not too crowded. What a fabulous beach! Very clean loos, a lifeguard station with drinks and ices in the summer, it's such a brilliant spot. Lovely rural carpark next to the lifeboat station . Has a little RNLI gift shop where you can get hot drinks and loos. Also a cafe a little walk away from the Great location out of season, perfect for an early walk on a mainly sandy beach, with great views of the Norfolk coastline. Good facilities in season, but sadly spoilt by excessive parking charges from the county council, for what is a flooded, pothole ridden, wasteland, of a car park. Cart Gap Beach, located on the Norfolk coast of England, is a serene and unspoiled stretch of coastline that offers visitors a peaceful retreat. Known for its expansive sandy shores and relatively quiet atmosphere, it's a favored spot for those seeking to escape the more crowded beaches. The is characterized by its natural beauty, with wide open spaces and impressive views of the North Sea. At low tide, the reveals a vast area of smooth sand, perfect for long walks, beachcombing, or simply relaxing while listening to the gentle waves. The nearby coastal path provides additional opportunities for exploration, offering stunning views of the surrounding cliffs and countryside. Cart Gap is also a popular destination for dog walkers, as it is pet-friendly and offers plenty of room for dogs to run and play. Despite its tranquility, the is not isolated; facilities such as parking and a nearby café ensure a comfortable visit. For history enthusiasts, the remnants of old World War II defenses can be spotted along the shoreline, adding a touch of historical intrigue. Overall, Cart Gap is a hidden gem on the Norfolk coast, ideal for those seeking solitude and natural beauty. Beautiful beach. Not busy when I visited. Parking available at both carp gap and happisburgh. Carp gap cafe shut, but lifeboat shop open where coffee and tea could be purchased. Toilets at both carp gap and happisburgh. Small play area at happisburgh for children on carpark site. Also spotted a seal in sea. Loved this beach. Wonderful for sandcastles! Good for surfing lovely lifeboat shop, parking and facilities... A beautiful with stunning views across the Norfolk coastline. Was lucky to visit on a clear blue day - very windy though. Easy to pay and display at the car park which takes card - be wary of the single track road though. Nice cafe nearby too. We found this whilst staying in Autumn Cottage in Ingham. It was only a 5 minute drive away. It has lovely flat sand and big open Norfolk sky's. Our dog loved it too. Parking was easy in the carpark and there are public toilets too. We noticed on the way in there is a restaurant. We did not go in it this time but it looked nice and was popular. I've added this bit since my last visit as I feel I should. I stayed in Ingham again and visited cart gap again, I'd forgot about the road way in to the car park. It's a single track with passing places and if it's busy you have to make sure you can pull off or you'll have to reverse to keep traffic flowing. Hope this doesn't put any one off but depending what vehicle I'm in I'd like to know about the road in to the carpark. Love this beach, every tide makes it different. Easy access and good facilities. Not too busy but getting busier. Good for spotting seals and safely walking the dog. Lovely and peaceful (until the jet skiers arrive and then it becomes noisy and they leave the access ramp slippery so be careful). Nice quiet off the beaten track down some narrow lanes. Sizeable car park right next to the with toilets. It is pay and display with standard charges for the area. is a mixture of sand and pebbles. Nice place to chill out whilst listening to the waves.
