This war memorial is just outside of the centre of Hortobagy, right next to the main road. It commemorates the Battle of Debrecen in 1944, reputedly the largest battle in WW2. This venerable T34 is an important war memorial. It is very disturbing to see pictures on Google Maps of a whole family climbing on it. This is not a park. There is only the on a plinth, with some tablets telling the history. It is worth visiting if you are in Hortobágy. Szép emlékmű! Lovely old Russian in the middle of the plain. Excellent memorial. Upon crossing the road you get a better view of it. It is a massive part of history and something you don't get to see everyday. It is wonderful to see and when the sun hits the spot just right, it makes for amazing pictures. There is also a bench nearby to sit down and also enjoy the background views of the nature and to maybe just enjoy a local picnic. Szép emlékmű.
