Vėliau čia įsikūrė sovietų areštinė. 1952 m. buvo likviduota. Pastate įsikūrė nusikaltusių jaunuolių perauklėjimo įstaiga. 1953 m. įsikūrė profesinė technikos mokykla, kurioje 1975 m. patalpas gavo visuomeninis Raseinių krašto muziejus. Po 1985–1987 m. įvykdytos rekonstrukcijos, visas pastatas buvo atiduotas Raseinių muziejui. 1992 metais atidarytos pirmos ekspozicijos, atspindinčios Raseinių krašto istoriją, liaudies meną, tradicinius amatus. Muziejus plėtėsi, didėjo eksponatų ir ekspozicijų skaičius. Būnant Raseiniuose įdomu aplankyti muziejų ir susipažinti su šio krašto istorija. A hidden gem, quite literally.
