It's not that big but if you are nearby I do recommend a visit. Lovely place, it surely deserves a visit! A little-known ruins of a roughly 800 year-old castle (two castles actually). One cannot enter the ruins but you can walk all around and have a good look, with interpretive signage (in German only). Drive around the castle and park in the rear - it's better! Great views over the Rheinebene and Kaiserstuhl! It was so interesting and amazing 💖 The Burg is free to visit and has access straight from a parking area just below. I visited on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised. It was a lovely bright and sunny day and from the higher points there was an impressive view. Well worth a visit and I will return again at a different time of year as I am sure I will be able to get some great photos as the seasons change. Nice views easy walk from the bottom parking lot to the ruins. This is one of my favorite quiet places in the area. The community keeps it nice. It has a great view and just up the road are nice trails for hiking or biking. Parking in front for about 6 cars and in behind for about 4 cars. Across the road is a beer garden also with a nice view however check the hours before going there because they sometimes change. I am always enjoying this kind of places: silent, marked by traces of history and offering a great view ... no entrance fee and enough parking places ... as a photographer, I think it’s a wonderful place for photo-shootings ... and, of course, you can have lunch or dinner vis-a-vis!!!
