I visited this impressive convent with its church a rainy Friday morning end of July 2025. Neither a nun, nor a cat was visible this early morning but the church was open, probably because decoration was going on probably for the week-end service. I discretely retreated after having taken some photographs to enjoy. Nice walk from train station Münstertal. There is an easy, wheelchair accessible walk as well as a more exciting one on the other side of the valley with caves and narrow paths. The church is beautiful and the campus picturesque. Definitely worth a visit when in this area. Recommended. Tolle Klosteranlage. Fantastic convent with a fantastic group of energetic mums who toil day and night fighting for good against evil. Admissions are free. Eine sehr schöne barocke Kirche. Wobei Kirche zu klein gedacht ist. Die Größe und Ausstattung kommt einem Dom gleich. Schöne guterhaltene Kirche ⛪️ In toller Kulisse According to tradition, St. Trudpert's Abbey originated with Saint Trudpert, an Irish missionary and martyr in the southern Black Forest in the first half of the 7th century. He established a hermitage in Münstertal which became a monastery in the 9th century, and which by, at the latest, 900 had expanded to a monastic community supported by the influential noble family of the Liutfride. It is recorded that relics of Trudpert were translated to the abbey in 901 and shortly after 965. Walking up to Kohlerhof, and then towards Münstertal, after a good piece of wandering, seeing the mountains and beautiful valleys, you suddenly you see the Abbey, far away. An incredible sight, and one senses what those, hundreds of years ago, that had been on a pilgrimage to the Abbey must have sensed, seeing this spectacular view. Main church open to visitors, not the abbey itself. Wonderful walks in the surrounding hills Lovely place, where a nun introduced us to an 80 year old Coy Carp in the pond in the beautiful garden. Stunning setting, in the valley. The cafe near by serves amazing cakes too! Sehr sehenswert und schön. We loved this place!!! Soo beautiful in springtime. There is a lot of hiking paths in the area. Flowers, streams and breathtaking views from the hills if you walk up on one. Will come back! Hope they set up a parking space to sleep for motorhomes soon! Wunderbarer Ort inkl tollem alten Friedhof, der Rundweg lohnt sich zu Fuß Sitio bonito desde donde empezar diferentes rutas por el bosque o la montaña.el cementerio muy bien cuidado. A peaceful place in a beautiful location Beautiful monastery in an extremely green and pretty town. Welcoming and well maintained.. Kloster St. Trudpert is a gem amidst the Black Forest's beauty. The well-kept cemetery, serene courtyard, stunning altar, impressive pipe organ, and intricately adorned ceiling all make it a must-visit for those seeking both spiritual and visual inspiration in a picturesque setting. Lovely church. Easy to get to. The statue wept a tear every few minutes. Wir konnten zu dem Zeitpunkt leider nicht auf das Gelände rein.
