Absolutely fantastic spot. Quiet...the waves...the birds and mostly locals when we went. The climb down to the rocks can be dangerous and the waves are intense. With caution you can enjoy this beauty. There is even a Private Castle in the distance. Mullaghmore Head and Beach is a truly stunning spot on Ireland’s northwest coast that took our breath away. The drive out to the headland offers panoramic ocean views, with Benbulben rising majestically in the background—it’s like something from a movie. The beach itself is long, clean, and incredibly peaceful. We visited in the late afternoon, and the golden light on the sand and sea was just magical. It’s perfect for a quiet walk, collecting shells, or just sitting and watching the waves roll in. The water is crystal clear, and while a bit chilly (as expected!), it’s popular with surfers and swimmers in the summer. What really stands out is the wild, rugged beauty of the headland. The coastal around Mullaghmore Head offers dramatic views of the Atlantic, especially when the waves are crashing—this is one of Ireland’s best big-wave surfing spots after all! There’s a small harbor, a few cafes and restaurants nearby, and plenty of space to just relax and take it all in. Whether you're into photography, sea air, or just want a scenic escape, Mullaghmore is a gem. Peaceful, powerful, and absolutely worth the visit. Rustic area where the ocean crashes against rock shelves and flatbeds striated with straight line crevices. How can you give anything less than five stars to this beautiful location. Just 25 minutes or so north of Sligo it’s a lovely place to have a weather permitting or just gaze out at the hill of Donegal. If you are lucky you might see whales or dolphins in the bay. Pull up in the town and grab a coffee or something to eat and take a stroll around the docks or the lovely beach. It does get busy during summer but stick with it and a parking space will appear soon enough. If you are passing it’s well worth the small detour. Worth the drive for a gander at Classiebawn Castle and to stop for a blustery if you are brave but brace yourself. Outstanding place on waw Easily one of the most beautiful places I've visited in Ireland so far. Can the road along the coast as there is a car park here and more to see walking both directions. Nice little harbour and beautiful beach. Good around the coast with views of Classiebawn Castle. Stunning place! Castle looks amazing, unfortunately for visitors, it's private but the cliffs are amazing 👏🏼 and you can have a nice view from the Atlantic ocean I loved this place. The view was really beautiful, but the castle was very far. When you visit this place, you can see the castle in the distance. Pet-friendly my dogs loved this place.
