Dankzij de vrijwilligers, die met passie en kennis vertellen, komt de geschiedenis echt tot leven. Een van de hoogtepunten is de mogelijkheid om de machines in werking te zien. Dit geeft een goed beeld van hoe arbeidsintensief het proces vroeger was. Voor extra uitleg zijn er duidelijke films te bekijken en QR-codes beschikbaar, wat een handige toevoeging is. De grote schoorsteen buiten en het waterrad binnen zijn imposante herinneringen aan de revolutie. Ze benadrukken de schaal en het belang van de textielindustrie in die tijd. Kortom, het Weverijmuseum is een aanrader voor iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in geschiedenis, techniek of ambacht. Mooie maar beperkte hoeveelheid artefacten, multimedia uiteenzetting en een weefzaal met fraaie getrouwen vaak in werkende staat. Dit alles in authentiek Industriegebouw nog voorzien van watermolen. En last but no least een zeer zeldzaam smeerdoekgetouw. Mooi conservatieproject geïntegreerd in gemeentelijk culturele hub. Meer geëxposeerde objecten welkom alsook wat meer focus bij het onthaal. Imtresant Visited the Kimono exhibition, was very surprised about the number of kimono’s they had displayed! Worth the visit for sure. Run by volunteers who have worked there. Our excellent guide started at 14 years old and gave us a great tour. It's a wonderful piece of history giving great insight in what it was like to work in the weaving industry. They still have working looms and they make beautiful dish towels and bespoke table cloths. Well worth a visit. Vorige week bezocht ik het Weverijmuseum. B'tje saai d8 ik - maar née ! Ik was zéer verrast over wat er allemaal te zien is ! Een oud-medewerker, die van jongs af aan in de fabriek gewerkt heeft, vertelde op een fantastische manier over de machine's, van de oudste tot de modernste, computergestuurde, machine. Hij demonstreerde ook de werking - verleden en heden kwamen tot leven ! I liked the Weverijmuseum as it clearly conveys the history of the textile industry in Netherlands.
