Relatively easy/flat through the nature reserve from the carpark to Raven's Point and back, completing around 9km loop walk. It's a really good with a variety of landscapes... beach, sand dunes, forest and plenty of wildlife, especially at Raven Point. An absolutely beautiful woodland that goes on longer than you might expect. Wonderful for humans and dogs alike. If you take any left path along the way, you come out onto sand dunes and stunning Curracloe which is so big it's always pretty empty. When I was there on a Thursday afternoon, I saw about 10 other humans in over an hour of walking and all as specs in the distance on the beach. You can start waking down from parking towards the first path. Every few minutes walking, there is an alley which you can go straight for the beach. So you don't really need to go ask around the forest trail. The have that nice sand, is wide and as usual super cold irish sea. But there's one surprise and it's the mussels. There's thousand of them. Different shapes, sizes, colours. Ample parking space gorgeous forest leading up to the beach. Visited on a warm day in August. We took a de route just by listening to the waves and got to the beach. Will be back next summer!! Lovely sand beach, clean and vast , great for walks, picnics too. Beautiful and stright forward to walk, plenty of different routes to change it up, bird watching area at the end is well. Enjoyed this walk. 7.6km with loop. Plenty of off track walks that can make this longer and lead on to the beach. Absolutely beautiful woodland to through with the option of then walking along the beach. If you're lucky you can spot seals swimming along the coast, I had 5-6 while strolling along amazing hike fully signed and trailed the whole way definitely should be on everyone's bucket list Amazing place to walk, with both the beautiful forest and Curracloe beach. Beware an easterly wind though, it can make the cold Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
