Lovely place to visit. It is extremely well kept with museums and tours. The are just amazing for walking through and there are points of interest. There's a cafe and gift shop here too and there was plenty of parking when we went. Entry price was reasonable and we had a very nice day out here. Would recommend a trip here. I can’t believe I’ve only just discovered Johnstown – what an absolute gem! The are stunning, with beautifully maintained gardens that are perfect for a long, relaxing walk. We spent around 4 hours exploring and still felt like there was more to see. On-site, there’s a lovely gift shop with souvenirs and local products, as well as a cozy café – both great stops to round off the visit. But what truly made our experience unforgettable was our guide, Margot (I hope I spelled her name correctly). She is an amazing storyteller, bringing the of the and the family who lived there to life in such a captivating way. You can really see how much joy and passion she has for sharing these stories – we were completely impressed and inspired by her. This place is magical, and I recommend it one million percent. If you’re in Ireland, Johnstown is an absolute must-visit! What a lovely place, very and plenty to see. When we went it was awful weather so we stayed inside. There was an event talking about bees, honey etc, it was very good and we learnt a lot. We explored around the and all the of farming and lifestyle back in the day. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The little cafe was very good too. This place is well worth a visit. Maybe next time we can explore the too. An excellent option for a great day out. We booked in advanced and had a fabulous show us the interior. Really history. A short and a lovely lunch in the restaurant before heading home. Well worth the visit. This to Johnstown was such an impromptu decision and honestly we don’t do things like this often enough. It turned out to be absolutely brilliant. When the began, it was clear we were in great hands with our guides, Margaret and Freddie. 😊 They were both wonderful. So welcoming, full of warmth, and overflowing with knowledge about the and its history. Margaret was our main and you could see how much she cared about what she was sharing and that passion made the whole experience unforgettable! Every room and every story came to life because of the way Margaret told it. I learned so much about the families, the architecture and the fascinating past of the / its grounds. She’s a brilliant story teller! ☺️ The itself is stunning but it is Margaret and Freddie who made the so memorable. They truly deserve a round of applause. Their enthusiasm, kindness and genuine love for the place shone through at every moment. I had such a fabulous time and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Wexford. You’ll away not only impressed by the beauty of the Johnstown Estate but also grateful for the people who bring its to life. Had the dreamiest intimate wedding here at Johnstown in May. There are so many beautiful rooms to choose from to have the ceremony, and we settled on the dining room. The is full of history. Judy and her team were so lovely to work with and they were always so enthusiastic about our wedding and we were so touched by the care she and her team showed us. We were also given us complimentary tours of the and we so loved learning about the and the castle’s past occupants. On the wedding day the bridal party is given use of the drawing room upstairs, which is where we ended up doing our first look. I can’t describe how special it felt to be getting ready in that room, it’s something one has to experience to understand. If you are looking for a venue to get married in, please don’t skip this place. Not only will you have the most lovely team helping you, but it’s also already so stunning (no additional decorations required!). The price for the venue we felt was of incredible value and our guests were blown away by the place. Definitely a one of kind property, highly recommend. Really enjoyed the of the house. Its so and the guides were wonderful. I was angry to hear they are volunteers. I feel the estate can well afford to pay them. I have worked as a in the past and its not as easy as it looks. The ladies we had could answer any questions asked and were so friendly and welcoming. They really knew their of the estate The museum was very too. The are lovely but unfortunately it was raining. We had lunch in the café which was nice. Absolutely stunning and lakes! The itself; inside was like stepping back in time. The place is preserved to a high standard and well worth the money for a tour. Margaret was our and she’s exceptional and very knowledgable! I will be back again! What a fantastic day out! The castle, visitors centre, walks and are so very nice. But, the highlight of the was definitely the of the give to us by Antoinette! so much information and detail. Thoroughly enjoyed! It's been many years since my last to Johnstown. There has been a lot of changes as in the new visitor centre, lower lake and new car park. I booked online for the 'n' Cars 5.0 which was an amazing event. I'd highly recommend it for all car enthusiasts if you can catch it next year. The are still very beautiful, I took a around the lake, I didn't get a chance to see the lower lake but that's for another day. It was fantastic to see all the peacocks again and there's also a new family of swans. The staff in the visitor centre are friendly and helpful. I had a coffee and scone in the Peacock Cafe which was delicious. The museum is amazing and well worth a visit. It's fantastic to see all the new progress there but I couldn't help but think that it could get too developed and over commercialised. You don't need to 'doll up' natural beauty, it sells without concrete and added benefits. I will definitely more regularly and try take in all areas of the grounds. We followed a very of the and the whole experience honestly made our stay in Co. Wexford a memorable experience. The was at least an hour long and well worth it. The gardens are also beautiful with lots of live peacocks roaming around. Give yourself enough time to from the bus or car park to the house and be sure to check bus timetables from Wexford town in advance. Johnstown is well worth the visit. Beautiful. Was a fantastic day out. The was very informative and the really knew his history. The are beautiful, perfect for walking the dog. we didn't get a chance to all of the grounds, so will definitely be coming back again. Very good value for money, €16 gets you the (~1- 11/2 hours) access to the and the agricultural museum. Can't beat it. Will be recommending others to go visit. The whole family had an amazing day at Johnstown Castle. All the staff at reception were so welcoming when we arrived. They went above and beyond to make this a very special day for our family. They even organising a golf buggy for our nanny to travel in style to and from the castle. Our guides were amazing, they were so knowledgable and we loved listening to the stories and the of this beautiful place. Thank you so much for helping us celebrate our Nanny’s birthday and making it a day she will never forget. We had a wonderful time at Johnstown Estate. Milo, our for the was excellent, providing so much detail about the castle, the family and how the estate had evolved over the centuries. It was riveting and I would highly recommend the tour. The are spectacular and we enjoyed our around the lakes. The food in the cafe was first class. If you are going to don’t miss out the museum it was fantastic. So much detail. In summary, just a great day out, if you are in the area it’s a must see.
