Went for a special of local photographer Roland Thysell. The small cinema showed a great intro movie which was super helpful. The permanent shows life in Trelleborg over the past century or two. Very interesting. And staff was super helpful. Small oinside and then a longhouse, a little viking village and the old viking fortress outside. Free for kids and close to the E20 motorway. The has different collections and the main one is about Trelleborg history from the 1200 until today. A pretty small but right to the point! A lot of information about prehistoric time. Unfortunately it is not in English but they will give booklets with the translation of the whole so no worries. Come here and explore the ancient times of this area. I think the exhibitions are nice content wise, but there is no head or tail to the place. From an about an illustrator (I think, as it isn't mentioned), to an unchronologic display of Trelleborg's (and southern Skåne's) history without any intro. If they would do small fixes to the structure and some intro, then it would be way better. Weird museum. If you don't speak Swedish they have books with some translation, but it's not complete, not covering the whole and that's why nor really helpful. The is organised in non-logical and non -chronological way. The part with archeological stuff in the only interesting, but definitely creepy. If you're in the city and you have absolutely nothing to do, you may visit this museum. Otherwise it doesn't worth time. It's a very small and the large rarely changes. But they have a small section that does. Why five stars? Not sure. It is just a nice place to return to. The staff is always friendly and even though most things don't change, there is usually something new. I must have been there more than 20 times and I have no plans to stop. Interesting with uncommon concept. Entertaining and educational at the same time. Nice place for kids and adults Very nice place to visit. Friendly staff. Excellent focused on details. Beautifully composed objects emphasized by very subtle light. Much nicer than expected! Presents the history of Skåne in just the right amount of detail. Features, for example, a section about the importance of ferry routes for the development of the region, or DNA-based reconstructions of local hunter-gatherers. Definitely worth a 2-3-hour visit.
