Plan you visiting time carefully during the heat wave. Que was HUGE!! Water was cooling, but still not very clean. Feels worth more spending the entrance fee for an extra petrol to get to the sea 🪼🪼 Beau parc mais piscine abandonnée et on ne sait même pas la visiter Park is quite clean and organised. The other reviews are bit exaggerated. I would say water in some areas are very good for swimming and some not and they are marked. Bring your own water. Tons of things to do for kids. What a magic place, beach, bars, food. Very well done Child friendly beach, clean and equipped with playground. You need to show your ID for security reasons. 1€ per kid, 5€ per adult. Parking at 5 min walking distance. Bar and snacks close nearby. Possibility to fish and rent sail boat as well. It's very place even better than the coast you need to pay 4€/person and the parking 5€ day ticket A piece of lake is accessible if you wish to kayak in piece without other people around. We love the feeling here! Due to pandemic reservations are mandatory which makes the place not too crowded. Fantastic playgrounds! I recently had the delightful opportunity to spend a day at Hofstade Strand with family and friends, and our experience was absolutely five-star worthy! Situated just a short 30-minute drive from Brussels, this is part of the Sport Vlaanderen Hofstade complex, serving as an enchanting getaway that seems to be one of Belgium's well-kept secrets. Our visit to Hofstade Strand was marked by pristine conditions and well-thought-out amenities for visitors of all ages. The area was impeccably clean, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere right from the start. With children in our group, we were thrilled to find that the playground and sandy areas were well-equipped, providing a safe and engaging space for the little ones to explore and play to their heart's content. For those in our group who were keen on engaging in sports, the volleyball net was a fantastic addition. The thrill of engaging in an energizing game with the backdrop of the was nothing short of exhilarating. There is also a water ski area offering unique fun on the water for those looking to try something new. What made our day even more enjoyable was the availability of a bar and cafeteria. Having access to refreshments and food without having to leave the premises allowed us to wholly focus on enjoying our time. The green spaces dotted around Hofstade Strand offered perfect spots to lay back and soak in the serene beauty of the surroundings, making it ideal for both active and leisurely visitors. Parking was convenient, with ample space for cars, alleviating the usual stress that comes with finding parking spots at recreational spots. This thoughtful provision ensured that our day started and ended on a hassle-free note. Overall, Hofstade Strand struck the perfect balance between recreational and relaxation options, making it a top-notch destination for groups like ours, consisting of both children and adults. Its proximity to Brussels makes it a convenient choice for city dwellers looking for a quick escape to nature. In hot summer days you should buy your tickets online in advance, otherwise it is opened with no tickets outside summer. For anyone contemplating a visit, I wholeheartedly recommend Hofstade Strand for a day filled with fun, laughter, and relaxation. The well-maintained and diverse facilities cater to a range of preferences, guaranteeing a satisfying experience for all. Whether you’re planning a family outing or a day out with friends, Hofstade Strand promises a delightful time! If you charge EUR 8 per adult and 6 per child, you also have to take care of the cleanness of the Beach. Almost everywhere are geese excrements, at some spots you cannot even walk. Also the kids area at the Strand is full of it. And when telling the staff, they simply reply that they know the Problem. Answer is not good enough, if you take entrance fee get the area clean! Amazing experience. Really beach, staff and swimming facilities. Everything you need for a relaxing day. I was just a bit sad I couldn't park my van there as the parking is max 2 meters. Hopefully next year it will be 2,10 m and I can get in easily ;) A bit pricey, but well maintained. Used the outdoor swimming pool, the looked nice. Very lake / for kids location and providing a place for people only for 6 euro and letting them bringing their own food is good and serves for piblic; but the facility could be maintained better: -toilets with no cleaning and soap -music was forbidden but there was no control -bar could be with more staff I didn't like it. There is no staff in the water to help or monitor the children. If a child drowns, it will be difficult for someone to arrive in time. They don't offer any kind of assistance. Super expensive (8€) and too many people and security guards. On top of that you can’t even swim far, there are barriers everywhere. I was faced with an unpleasant situation: after paying for my ticket, I realized that I had left my things (including my swimsuit) in the parking lot. I asked for permission to go and pick up my things, but the guard and the cashier wouldn't let me do it. They said that if I left, I would have to pay again! "These are the rules," they said, to my indignation. The mood was ruined. I will never go to this place again, especially since there is a much better place to stay in Mechelen!
