Always something to spot along the walk. Many spots for different sports to be done too. Gorgeous along a lake in a valley. More of a stroll than a hike, a few miles round trip. A nice from the upper car park, if you go up the path to top of the water fall is about 5k, and 40 flights, a bit rocky so you would want decent shoes or boots for the last bit up the water fall. There are toilets at this car park and the barrier accepts card payment. There are great views both up and down the valley and you may catch sight of the wild deer and goats as well as red squirrel and season dependent some grouse. Allow about 90 mins. Great in the mountains. Better to start from the lake side and went from the old miners town up to the top. Great view over Wicklow Mountains. Very lovely. Enjoy it. Unbelievable views! Pathways are well suited for walking, biking, carriages etc. The out and back to miners village takes about an hour without stopping. I encourage stopping along the way for pictures. Go early for parking. Absolutely breathtaking views on a windy weekday in November. To the old miner's village, it was a pretty level hike overall. I can't speak for what it looks like in other months, but it was amazing at the end of November and I highly recommend taking a few hours to enjoy this trail. We visited on our trip to Glendalough. It was a fun activity for my husband who collects natural stones. The view on the way there is also incredible. Magical glacier valley, well worth the hike.
