Brilliant This is a great place to go for a walk, and probably a run too if you like running. It's a dog friendly place too, and dogs definitely like running. Nature is good for you, so visit and have a walk, just make sure you have appropriate clothes for the weather. I always carry a bottle of water, flapjacks or similar, and a camera. Easy to park opposite the entrance but I'd say on days it could be difficult. I visited six years ago and to be honest it looks better managed now, nice walks for absolutely everyone with great views of the forest. There is a place in the middle of the that you hear nothing but trees moving and birds singing. No places to sit as such but we found a log used to reach a rope swing that we used for a picnic instead. Although we did have a cheeky swing as well. Totally litter free which is amazing in this day and age. Overall you gotta go and visit to have your own experiences, we are glad we did. Great for walks, and dog walking and can get a coffee on your way in from small van👍 Nice area, has a road in the middle of it, just be careful with dogs of lead. While raining it gets muddy, but still nice. There are many different kinds of flowers in the UK, and this time it’s the turn of the red flower - Poppy! You can see them blooming everywhere, and there is a large poppy field at Harlestone Firs, which is so gorgeous that many people come to take pictures. Beautiful place to explore. It's very on sunny weekends but still a lovely walk. There was also a coffee van inside and an ice cream van outside on the main road which were great! A nice place up wander in any weather but take wellys if it's been raining recently as some areas can be quite muddy in the wetter seasons. Thoroughly recommend! Beautiful with wide hard packed earth paths. We went during a particularly dry spring and the paths were pretty much entirely solid requiring no special footwear. Around wetter parts of the year wellies would be a must. The parking isn't amazing with having to park on a road and then cross it afterwards. This doesn't detract from the beauty and relaxing quietness of the forest. Really lovely corset for a dog and opposite a garden centre, would recommend! One of my favourite place for a nice easy walk, 2.5mile if you the outer edge. But loads of paths to make longer Peaceful Lovely peaceful amongst all the trees and birds. The only downside is the inconsiderate dog walkers who think there is a poo fairy in the woods who goes around picking after these lazy people . Pretty place for an afternoon and for some fresh air, with the added benefit of popping into Dobbies for use of the cafe, toilet and some household shopping. It does get busy, and have mainly seen families in groups. Although there is a lovely little café as you enter the park, and I highly recommend to grab a hot chocolate with all the trimmings! Pleasant but on weekend mornings, so visit in the afternoon if you want to have more of the woods to yourself. This is by far my most favourite place to be in Northampton. It's a tranquil and scenic space to explore and destress. In a world where being ultra is accepted as the norm. Please take some time to recerge and explore this beautiful landscape. The can be as long as you want it to be. I've committed to a short 20 minutes to exceeding 2 hours exploring the vast perimeter of the woodland. Parking is okay but should be on the other side of the road. Please do not let this detract you from making a visit, though. You might even spot the occasional muntjac wandering around the depths of the firs offering. Harlestone Firs is home to one of the most dramatic and beautiful Cathedrals of Nature. The Beech Avenue at the far end of the paved roadway is truly glorious when the canopy of leaves are in full summer dress and again in October. I promise you won’t be disappointed. It’s also a varied woodland offering many amazing opportunities where a creative photographer can allow their imagination to wander and explore images that you didn’t know existed. It’s an altogether wonderful place to spend many hours in imaginative thinking. I really enjoyed my solo at Harlestone Firs. The weather was lovely and the smelled fresh and clean after the recent rains. Be prepared for some seriously muddy paths off the main tracks, though—good boots are a must after wet weather. This is a versatile location. I saw many cyclists and the paths are clearly marked for walking and horse riding too. It feels very family-friendly. A small word of warning: the parking is on the street side and requires caution when maneuvering. Beautiful spot for nice walk, accessible for disabled and families with prams. Not much of an entertainment for kids. Lots of bikers and motorbikes unfortunately too. Just go and enjoy the beauty of nature.Ice cream van on car park at the front of the entrance. Nicely set out, but barely enough space for a wheelchair between some exhibits. Restaurant staff did well considering it was only three days after opening. Fish and chips were delicious apart from the garden peas which were tasteless. I'm sure this place will only get better as the staff settle in to their jobs. PS, no wheelchairs were available (11.00 am Wednesday 26th), so make sure you take your own. Lovely with plenty of shaded areas for your fluffy friend! What’s great is that you can for as short as 10 mins or as long as a three hour loop A lovely, characterful country gastro pub which did not disappoint. Calm, friendly atmosphere with a no-rush bike, leaving us free to take our time despite it being busy. Food was tasty, hot and nicely presented and dietary needs accommodated with understanding and without fuss. Will definitely revisit!
