There is a café near the car park, a play for kids, and a ice cream hut with friendly staff. You can see the house but it's not open to the public, but the parish church is open for a quick look around. Also an arboretum of trees to though with pair of old stone bridges with a long pond. One bit was dry in summer 2025 after the drought. Maybe it's more after the flowers bloom, now I wasn't impressed. Absolutely stunning and peaceful estate, perfect for a family day out. The meerkat enclosure is a joy to watch, and you’ll also see parrots, goats, pigs, ducks, and tiny monkeys. After leaving the zoo, the path leads through a lavender-filled alley and loops back toward the orangery. We visited yesterday with my 2 year old grandson. place however we didn't realise you had to book and the man who was on the booth wasn't very helpful and quite frankly wasn't very friendly. There was an option to purchase at the shop but he failed to mention that to us. So we had to stand there and purchase which took a while because of signal. We spent just over an hour exploring Castle Ashby Gardens, great amounts of flat stoned walking routes to suit all. I used to come here a lot 20 or so years ago with an old friend. I decided to take my 7 year old son who loved it walking round the garden. Very good gardens.
