A car park is available, Nn7 2HX will get you there. It closes at 9pm in the summer. Toilets available. Cafe available. Picnic tables available.. This is also where GO APE is. There are plenty of walks to choose from.. They're named and coloured. They were easy to follow all the way around.. The longest takes around 2 hours and 20 minutes in the summer and is approximately 6 miles. The paths are very bumpy in places, and in the winter it's extremely muddy with wellies required. Only the smaller routes would be suitable for buggies. Dogs allowed, and off lead in places too, just bring plenty of poop bags. There wasn't any benches around the that we did, so bring a blanket if you need to sit down. There are also high up wooden walkways so that you can have a good view too, although these are often very busy. Definitely a visit, a beautiful ancient forest. A great place to or take the dog. A few to follow and these are well signed. Level walking and easy walking. Well a visit. Lots of even on the busier days, good facilities at the main entrance with friendly staff. The walks are well marked and there is some amazing scenery to wander through. Lots of things for people to do and see, especially for the younger ones. Great picnic tables with lots of space. Paid Parking, £2 an hour or £6 all day, with disabled spaces (not free) located near the cafe. Mixed woodland with a variety of paths and trails. A number of signed are aimed at engaging children. Wooden seats are found in a number of places along main paths. Can get busy but you can still find quite corners away from the crowds and the cafe. Nice place to visit with the kids if looking for a walk. A few different length to choose from. It has a cafe and toilets and plenty of grass and benches to sit down on. It has a little park with sand. One of the has some little activities for the kids like a seesaw and a little area with dens and wooden houses. Wanted to get out into nature so loved walking the 10km walking path around Salcey Forest. I Was impressed with the various lengths of walking and running tracks around Salcey Forest. Loved the wellbeing and the fun kits activities too. There was a cafe, toilets, playgrounds for the tiny humans & table tennis tables for the bigger humans. The only downside is the cost of the parking. For an hour is not cheap. For 2 hours its a bit painful. All day is a the cost of a couple of coffees. But after trying to rush through the 10k to get back to the car in time, the all day pass is splurging on! if you like it & can imagine going back regularly, it's paying for a yearly pass! Would not take too many visits to get your moneys worth! There is a lot to see and do, so it will be good. I already want to go back! Well a visit! Great place to and have tea etc Lovely with 3 trailed walks ranging between 0.75mile, 1.5miles or 6miles, cycle routes and a horse trail. Cafe offers hot and cold food and drinks, and theres plenty of things for kids to do. Pay and display either cash, card or app payments. Very easy access and absolutely well signalling all the trails. Variety of on lenth. Big car parks available and also possibility of on different car parks all close by. A lovely Caffè too to get some extra energy or a warm coffee on a rainy day like today. Playground area included and a little Kiosk with information about the forest. Informative signs during the trail about the biodiversity in the forest. Random burned out car in 😋 Lovely time at salcey. Went to go do the new stick man trail which was so good! Was lovely seeing the gruffalo on the way and long with the enchanted forest. My daughter really enjoyed it as did many other children there. The trail pack that you can get was also great and really interactive. Would definitely recommend. We took the bus as well so didn’t have to pay for parking. Both myself and my daughter enjoyed it and wouldn’t even mind doing it again. A beautiful place to be close to nature We love this place, its a great walk, lots of different paths, with adventure for kids, good facilities by the car park, our only bugbear is the is so expensive, no afternoon discount, we came at 5pm and still paid £8 to park. We arrived thinking that the tree top was still available, it was dismantled 2 years ago, I didn’t see info on this but 🙄 never mind lol just got ripped off as well, would I come again NO Trees and dogging, what more could you ask for.
