The location is a great one in Kilkenny and very close to the car park making it easy to stop here. We found the people to be very nice and helpful during our visit. The Biscoff ice was awesome here and I highly recommend it. We also had a melting snowman & found it to be delicious as well. If you are in the area stop in to find some great offerings. I will say the shop is a bit smaller so you may need to sit outside like we did, but not a deal breaker for great ice cream! I am a really big fan of Scrumdiddly’s and was really happy to have one while in Killenny. I felt this time though that my scrumnoffee was not as generous as it usually is hence the 3 stars. We asked our server from brunch for dessert recommendations and she enthusiastically told us that we should head over to Scrumdiddlys. It is conveniently located in the main part of town. It looks exactly as you would expect a dessert place called "Scrumdiddly's" to look and taste like (sounding like something out of Willy Wonka). The smell of fresh waffle cones sets the stage. Then they have an ice bar with options to choose your own candy toppings, or shakes, waffle cones, or whatever we got which was a pre-created menu item with vanilla soft serve ice covered in chocolate syrup, peanut butter spread, brownie chunks, and Reese's cups. The chocolate sauce wasn't very chocolaty, rather it was more like a thin brown sugery sauce. The specialty sundaes look very good, though. Very accommodating. We were seated outside in the patio but then offered a table inside next to the woodburning stove where it was cozy. They checked that everything was to our liking. The food was very good. The family behind me in the queue left and took their children to Supermacks for ice cream. There only seemed to be 2 girls serving, one of them was very pleasant and efficient but the girl that served me was so slow and did not interact with the customers atall. I worked in customer service for years and you always have to be pleasant to the customer and up your game when you are busy and not have them waiting around. Needs a manager to get them to work quicker when required. Customer service was absolutely appalling I went I with some friends for 3 ice creams last night at ten to 7 she did not come out from the back room she was hiding in till it was 5 to when she did decide to come out and serve us she said I can only do one ice that there closed I to which I replied it’s not closing time yet and she says the do I look like I give an F. I’ve never felt more unwelcome and embarrassed in a place I was in scrumdiddlys shouting all kinds of profanities at me and my friends who simply only wanted 3 ice creams is them doing there job really to much to ask for your advertised your open till seven and your staff treats me like this within opening hours it sounds weird to put rainbow sweets in soft serve icecream it freezes and becomes amazing.Thats why i love scrumdiddlys it always makes me smile the unique toppings you i hope you enjoy your time there if you come! Great food and ice but waited 30 minutes just to be served, bare in mind there was only around 4/5 other people in front of me. only one staff member available which was crazy, a good few people behind me left to go somewhere else because of the wait, staff members looked under pressure… one more staff member would have don’t the trick, feel bad on the guy, management should do better.
