Free drinking water fountain. Decent restaurant on site. Friendly staff. Loved their scavenger hunt game for kids for Easter. Great place to visit for nice walks and a view. Went on a few trails from the visitor center to the and took a bus back to the visitor center. has lots of stuff to see inside and offers a cafe with snacks and coffee. Grounds also has a gorgeous garden to walk around. Beautiful place, spacious, free car park and frequent shuttle bus service to the castle. I recommend the walk, it only takes half an hour and it's truly picturesque. There's a cafe next to the car park and a great viewpoint for dramatic sunsets. We loved the brave little robin hopping around our car, waiting for food. He almost ate from our hands ♥️♥️ Lovely place very peaceful, about an hour and half drive from Donegal town. Free to get in and walk around but can pay for bus to if you don't want to walk the 8km round trip. Beautiful scenery and a number of walking paths with very difficulty. Worth the drive Great place to visit. Many options. absolutely stunning. Good free parking. Reasonable bus up to from visitors centre (which is interesting too). tour is not long, but lovely, and reasonably priced also. Has a little gift shop and Tea room. In good weather many walking option. All is all a very good outing. Beautiful castle. You can take bus from the entry point or you can go through trail with amazing view of the lake. is beautiful but the you feel amazed when you enter into the garden. Take caution for flies in the garden which may bites you can cause itching for several days. Need tickets to enter into castle. Worth watching. Get your walking boots on as you will need them for the walks around the lake. There is cycle hire if you prefer but the views are stunning and the walk or ride to the is well worth it. They have an amazing array of plant life and an excellent walled garden. There is also a shuttle bus to and from the which is reasonably priced. If you want to get back to nature and breath some fresh air, this is the place to go. Great place to stop if you want to visit the and also gain a deeper insight into the surrounding natural park. Beautiful views everywhere. A short shuttle bus can take you from the visitor centre to the entrance. Pretty and well-kept gardens are also on the land; it's worth taking a look at. If you are looking for food there is a restaurant at the centre as well as a café serving sandwiches, soups and drinks just as you exit the castle. Toilets are available both at the visitor centre + car park and at the grounds.
