Now a renovated, modern fortress, open for a few hours a day 10 - 15h, free to enter. There are even screens with videos promoting and explaining Serbian culture. I loved it. So glad things have changed for the better! Be responsible and keep it clean. 2018/9: 1*. No actual need to stop here. The is OK, from the outside, but is closed permanently. The garden around it is dirty and really nothing to see. You can stop if you pass by, for 10 min or so, should be enough to walk around it. Pirot's market is a better attraction. I think this is the second time I come to Pirot, and the second time the is closed an hour earlier than what it says on the sign outside.... not great for the single tourist attraction in Pirot... Interesting little with unusual staircase. Open to public without any fee. Well worth a visit if you ever pass by Very well preserved and organized. Free and all day accedd. Nice park nearby. Nice towers with views. Desperately needs parking space! A beautiful historical monument of old Serbia. Nearby there is a beautiful park for a walk and a picnic, a nice place to take it with the family. located exactly in the center of the city of Pirot. iI you want a super relaxing walk then you have to visit the fortress, especially since there is no entrance tax and no other tax. It is very easy to reach the location, which is located in a very nicely maintained park. The park also has a playground if you come here with your child Pirot's highlight! Don't skip! Momchilov Grad (also known as Momchilovo Kale or Pirot Fortress), according to legend, it was built in the 14th century by the Rhodopean Bulgarian ruler Momchil Voivoda. It is definitely worth a visit, although the views from it are not impressive but rather disappointing—dirty and in stark contrast to the fortress. The is worth visiting. It offers a good view of the city from its walls. It is a great space to explore and visit. You do not have to buy a ticket, it is free. Next to the fortress, there is a huge park. It is nice to stay there on sunny days. I liked it, I will come again. It has been restored. I recommend it.
