When on holiday in the region, we have returned time after time and have always been occupied for many, many fascinating hours! Walking along Le Sillon brings you to the cimetière marin (boat cemetery) where a number of beached fishing slide into decay and offer a good photo opportunity, beyond here you’ll find Chapelle de Notre-Dame de Rocamadour, famous for the model that are left there as offerings and the the late 17th-century Tour Vauban. There is parking at the beginning of Le Sillon which while busy did have spaces during our visit in May, I can image parking may be difficult during the summer. Nice little town to visit for lunch after touring the area and easy walk around the harbour Lovely scenary of these massive boats. Beautiful coastal scenery. Great sphere in the chapelle, very nice old ships and cousy town. Great beach! Stunning beach! White sand and clear blue water. Historical and interesting place to visit. Camaret-sur-Mer. A significant number of decommissioned fishing have been beached on one side of the harbour. This graveyard of ships has now become a tourist magnet for photographers who are eager to take sea-related or seascape images of these crumbling boats. Right next to the is a stunning church, it's a place where the wife's of the lost fishermen would go to pray for the return of their husbands. There are bars and restaurants all near by and also a public toilet. Look up at the hills, as there are bunkers all around the area. Had a good holiday in the area and found some good restaurants here. The boat cemetery makes you feel you are stepping back in time. Wonderful old boats, just shells of their former glory. Good place to walk explore beautiful church and boats.
