Loved the garden behind with the plate tectonics exhibit. The fluorescent rocks were very evocative. Probably our expectations were completely wrong. We expected some kind of general museum of minerals. This one is limited to the ones found in Brittany and then not so well displayed Very interesting museum, the man at the ticket booth is passionate and will give you precious information. It's a great way to spend a couple hours during a rainy day, as it happens often in Brittany. There is a free parking. It's perfect for kids too! Really well thought out. The staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the fluorescent display. This is a most extraordinary place ! Notably there is one room where the lights are alternately turned on and off and special lamps make the minerals glow brightly all colours in the dark ! Stunning displays ! Lovely staff too. And the small shop is full of very good value treasures. I also enjoyed the contour sand tray - make your own landscape, and the beautiful photo room. Do not miss this amazing museum ! A member of the museum has provided very interesting and detailed information on how the geology (but not only) of the surroundings brought to the different types of rocks present in the area. As well, the collection of fluorescent rocks is stunning! Maybe the overall content can be interesting for grown up children as it is sometimes complex to understand all the dynamics.
