A really nice seafront to walk along, I would have given it 5 stars, but on our visit (April) there was lots of doggy do on the promenade area (or near steps walking up / down). On the it was also a pain as some dog owners can't seem to control their dogs - kids for example were trying to build sandcastles and a dog came over frightened one of the kids, then later another dog came over and thought the sandcastle would be a good place to do a wee! We laughed at the time, but seriously, the volume of people walking past who had no control over theirs dogs was pretty high!! Signs indicate that dogs aren't allowed on the from May onwards so might be better in the really sunny season! Beutiful place to be in sunshine. It's best in summer and Spring time. A vast sea shore and beache. Lots of walking trails. is very clean. It's fun to be on beach. Suitable fot Kids, family, pets as well. Lovely sea front outlets. Icecream, coffe, tea, fish and chips.... There is a dedicated section for the skateboard, cycling. Don’t tell anyone how nice many of the Newcastle beaches are, or they’ll all stop and stay here instead of driving to Edinburgh or London. Pristine beaches, blue clean water, rocks to play for the kids and nice enough esplanade for biking, scooting and walking. The various options for having food or drink along the front are so-so but bring your own food and chairs and you’re set for the day! Lovely stroll on the especially by the Spanish shopping area. Not particularly touristy which was part of the charm although there was an ice cream and hot drinks hut. Lovely walk along the seafront before the weather breaks. 8.30 at night and people are swimming in the sea. Beautiful sunset tonight too. Had a snoop in Spanish City which is gorgeous. A very humbling and enlighten place. Be sure to make a trio to the light house too 🙏🙏🙏 blessed.be Having lived away for 16yrs, I was very impressed to see the improvements made to the sea front. Very clean, plenty of cafes/coffee shops and was amazed to see the Seals around St Mary's Lighthouse. It was a wonderful experience, managed to park motorhome for free for the whole day and play on with grandchild. Was surprised at all the people with dogs. Walked the length of the and never spotted a single message left by any dog Beautifully restored seafront. A pleasure to walk along with a delicious, gold medal icecream from Di Meo's or sit and admire the view devouring fish and chips, because everyone knows that sea air goes best with fish and chips. Wonderful. Lovely relaxing day out with plenty to do and amazing beaches.
