The walking route offers beautiful scenery, especially as you alongside the canal, but be aware that it’s not well-marked. Starting from the lot, the path by the canal is lovely, but it’s important to note that it doesn’t form a loop. If you follow the canal, you’ll eventually need to turn around to return to the lot. I initially thought it was a loop, but continuing along the canal leads you towards Ballymohan, where the route connects to a busy road with no footpath, making it unsafe for walking. I feel it could be better mapped out with little signs showing the different loops & how many km's. We enjoyed the long around the Centre Parcs site (took about 90 minutes) but found ourselves having to the last 15 minutes on the roadside which wasn't ideal with 2 children.
