We were too late for a tour, so just sat in the cafe on the ground floor. Fun - you have to pay for coffee and all cafe stuff at the counter, same as for tickets))) but if the weather is good and you go out - the outlook is nice))) Very nice with a wonderful exhibition of watches. It is a pity that photography is prohibited - nowadays it is the photographs of visitors that attract new tourists. The is new and excellent. There are three main parts on the first floor : the town's local watchmakers, a prehistoric and roman age section and a section of the last few hundreds years. On the ground floor you can find the history and collections of local artists. Unfortunately taking photos is not allowed at all in the museum. The cafe has tasty cookies and cakes and coffee and other drinks also. Books in german and postcards available in the shops. Tolle Location Candlelight concerts? Definitely yes! Really enjoyed looking at the clocks, small and large. Such amazing pieces and a key part of the history of Friedberg. The also covered the history of the castle and city well. Very lovely, traditional and modern at the same time. We stopped off in Friedberg to visit the old city before our overnight stop in Augsburg. Quaint, and a little bit off the beaten track so not throbbing with tourists when we were there. Nice architecture, great coffee shop with very good pastry sellection. I have visited the 15 years ago, but since then, the Stadt Friedberg acquired the Schloss and spent large sums in renovations. The was very entertaining and informative. If you love watches, this is a must for you. The gardens and trails surrounding the Castle are well maintained and the Coffee and Cake were fabulous.
