Probably the most famous resident of Madeira, the beautiful princess Sissi. The monument is very but not well maintained. I think originally it was made pretty well but faded through time. After visiting the monument I read the biography of Sissi. Her life was quite tragic because of the family issues. In the hands of the lady there was a natural flower. It means that people remember her story. It's the most important thing. Lovely little that is in the grounds of the Pestana Casio Hotel and is kept very nice. Well worth a short visit if you are in the area. Also while there you can find a couple of café restaurants just across the road as well as a small newspaper shop. I saw the on my last visit to Madeira. I'm staying next door,so i decided to look up her history. Very interesting. Empress of the Hungarians 👑🇹🇯😃 A in a public park. We spent the whole day in Funchal and continued from the to the parque de Santa Catarina. It is tourist place full of people. Lots of shops are close by and cable car is next to it. And sea front next 3it. Lonely "in" the grass in front of the Casino and a hotel stands the of the, I dare say, worldwide most famous person from Austria. The house where she lived during her stay on Madeira is not there anymore, the casino came in its place, so she is lost there, a rather unattractive (she´s always described as a beauty) woman in a beautiful dress. The always blooming nearby hedges (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) provide flowers that people put on her elbows. BTW, her less famous "family"- member, the last Austrian emperor, Karl I, lived and died on Madeira in exile and lies in a tomb in the Monte church. Just to take a view of the of Austrian empress Sissi, who liked to spend time on Madeira. Someone put flowers in her wrists.
