It was always the plan to go here first as I've read some reviews and it's not far from our hotel. It certainly didn't let us down. The place has a nice vibe, be were lucky to get a table outside around 10pm. The guy that served wasn't the most cheerful, but apart from that everything was perfect. The Poncha was nice - we tried the traditional and a tangerine one. I went for the local Coral beer which was spot on, the Prego Speciale was awesome and so was the Bolo do Caco. We'll definitely be returning during our week. Prices were really too. I'll attach the menu, I had to use my phone torch to read it as it was a bit dark! We went here twice during our stay. You can get a bite to eat and a drink very cheaply (worked out less than £10 each English money wise). Food was very enjoyable. Staff served quickly and were very and polite. This bar is by far the best in funchal the best in Madeira. Staff are excellent so and welcoming, loads and loads of choice, bar snacks are amazing. Best prices on the island. We always visit this bar when we come to Madeira. The local constabulary pop in for coffee it's that good. I would highly highly recommend a visit here. Just returned and just as if not better. I'd definitely recommend this place. place for a snack. We can recommend the steak and the omette on traditional bread. Both despite the hefty price increases. Nice place overall. very pub, and cheap food, top beer. open from 9 am till 2 in the night. service and live sports tv We liked the steak sandwich and it looked really but my wife got sick from it. No frier so no fries which was disappointing. Smokers outside smoking was blowing into the restaurant open doors which set off my breathing issues and allergies unfortunately. Guinness and Zikita were really though Spectacular staff. Super friendly, skillful making traditional cocktails and fast. The place is brilliant, the food is and the drinks could not be any better. It's a must. Ponchas there are the best. It was ok. Tables are a little too squashed together for me - but that's a personal thing. Had a choice of drinks. Always busy Over the years I have enjoyed many pregos at Pub Number 2. However, this visit was a letdown. The service was as was the beer and wine. But the Prego Number 2 was just OK. The beef barely had any garlic, the ham added nothing, it was soggy and lacked flavour. This place gets the afternoon sun in the afternoon. Quite popular. We had a couple of drinks and hand and cheese toasties on our first day here. Staying just down the road at Casal de Penha. Very reasonable. Be aware of the pigeons 🤣🫣 they will go for unattended food. Staff were nice enough. Pub Number Two is a bit hidden, but if you step off the main road leading to the center, you’ll find this unassuming spot with delicious sandwiches and beer. The prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit! place for beers and anything bolo ! Staff and atmosphere pub near our hotel. No hesitation in recommending this to everyone! This place is the absolute BOMB. The best ever pregos in the world, in fact we have come here almost everyday just for a prego and a beer because it is just so good. The staff are very and welcoming, vibes with some sports on. If I lived in Madeira I would come here everyday on my lunch break. Ten out of ten.
