It is very easy walk from Sitno Gornje and I am glad that great forest fire did not destroyed all forest around house but it was close call as can be see on the pictures. Legendary host in Mountain Hut, Špiro Gruica and his comrade Ćile hosted me so well with welcoming drink and refreshing chat...located in the heart of the Mosor mountain, fantastic place to visit, for hikers and adventurers... ❤️ Even if it is not clean still you have the toilet and soap and hand paper towels. Food is delicious, they do use a lot of Vegeta spices (wich I don't use over a decade) but it is nice and warm and not expensive! Usually you can choose between beans with sausage, cabbage, pasta with tomato sauce or bolognese. Coffee and tea, Coke, beer... Big tables for 8 or more, you have smoking area and non smoking area. Tables also in front of the house. Great for lunch especially with kids! Located beneath highest peaks of Mosor, great starting point for climbing on Mosor's highest ridge! We had the best experience of our entire Croatia holiday here. The surroundings are gorgeous for hiking, and the atmosphere in the Hut is heart-warming. Chile welcomed us with a big smile, a coffee (although they weren't even open yet), and lots of advice on trails. He let us camp next to the Hut for free and cooked amazing, traditional dinner. Lastly, we even had a small party there at night with a Croatian group. A truly authentic, unique experience for us. We could've stayed forever. Mille Grazie for all your awesomeness, Chile! Really cool and nice place to make a break on the hike on Mosor. Unforetunately it works only on weekends but when it works it is perfect. It is possible to overnight in the Hut (around 10 euros per person) and rooms are like in hostel. There is also warm food and cold beverages. Great place and must visit on Mosor. Nice place to eat some soup and have something to drink after climbing for 45 minutes. Beautiful view. Incredible that everything has been brought here by monkey's. Inside it was nice and warm and people were singing. The homemade food was very tasty. The owner and his daughter were the most friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stop here.
