Nice for a quick visit. Free access Medieval church ruins in the city center. No entrance fee. Cool church with a tree growing on top of it Pine tree growing on top of the doorway to the abbey! So cool! We stopped at Bad Herrenalb while on a driving tour of the Black Forest. It’s a sweet little village. In the small old city is an abbey ruin, kurpark with WWII memorial, and a garden with the old city walls still visible. The parking lot is a paid lot and has some shade. It is free to walk about the park, garden, and abbey ruin. It is very quiet even though a few families were there enjoying the park. I also recommend the Klosterschuer restaurant right nearby. Rather small but pretty mystic and nice place. Can serve as a magnificent photo location as well. Highly recommended if you are nearby you should give it a try and have a look. Charming ruins in the town centre of Bad Herrenalb. Check the tree growing above the door! Didn't expect to find such a beauty in Bad Herrenalb! Take a second to look at the marvelous pine tree and then rest for some minutes in the backyard - they grow there plenty of herbs and flowers, too. Incredible historic ruin.
