Before even ordering or being seated we asked our server Joana to clean my son’s milk bottle. Dona Carolina seemed very disturbed that her employee was cleaning the bottle, mentioning that there was a toilet for that. (I asked to sanitize with hot water). Thank you Joana for taking care of your guests. You’re doing it right. After ordering we asked for water and D. Carolina said her job is working in the kitchen and her employee would take the order. Maybe the table in the corner which seemed like regular (wealthy) guests deserved all D Carolina’s attention. It’s very common that in Portugal that restaurant owners truly believe in the good taste of the food. Although it’s very easy to find it in any other restaurants. We stopped at A Tasquinha do Silva while cycling the Portuguese coastal Camino and had a fantastic experience! The lady patron was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was excellent — the octopus, salad, and Bacalhau were all delicious and prepared with authentic local flavors. The cozy atmosphere and very reasonable prices made the meal even more enjoyable. A special bonus: we received a Camino stamp for our Camino passport, which was a wonderful touch and made our stop even more memorable. If you’re cycling or walking the Camino, don’t miss this gem for great food, heartfelt hospitality, and a unique Camino experience! A dinner we will never forget. Carolina welcomes you and you go along for a fabulous ride - wonderful warmth and hospitality, great local produce ( potatoes from the field on the corner), delicious chorizo, clams that were sweet and flavoursome and octopus like marshmallow - local wine and yummy carrot cake...all served in a unique quirky homey space - it's fantastic - like no other. If you're on the Camino treat yourself and eat here, they do lunch too. You'll have an experience to treasure. Simply amazing : it should be in everyone’s foodie list ….. and the house red is so smooth This is the most amazing restaurant we experienced along the Camino route. The hospitality by Carolina is unlike any I have experienced at a restaurant—she really takes care of Camino pilgrims, we felt so welcomed and cared for. And the food was absolutely delicious!! I need to try to recreate the way in which they cook their shrimp. Truly one of my favorite dining experiences I’ve ever had all around. Could not recommend more highly! My sister and I dined here while on Camino in the summer. This taverna is a MUST for anyone in the area or passing through! The food was amazing, and Carolina treats you like her favorite cousin with hugs and hospitality. The decor is quirky and fun. The wine pours are hearty. You will talk about this experience for years Such an amazing place! Went there after Camino walk. Got a table straight away drink and starter served almost immediately. Main dish didn’t take long either. Well prepared and tasty. Every time a table got their food you could hear them “oh wow”… The lady running this place has so much heart and really cares! We fortunately stumbled across this gem while doing the coastal Camino. Just a five minute walk from the boardwalk. We were greeted by Carolina and treated like royalty. Started with lunch and came back for dinner. Best food we had on the whole Camino. Authentic Portugese cuisine with fresh local vegetables which were delivered while we were there. I could not recommend this place enough. Expect local Portuguese food cooked with love. We had Chorizo, salad, octopus and greens. All was cooked to perfection and washed down with the house red.
