The old town hall building looks very beautiful. Interesting architecture and a nice atmosphere around it. A great spot for photos or just a walk. The building itself looks nice from the outside and is worth a quick visit. However, if there is no event happening nearby, the whole area feels very empty. It was built between 1448 and 1459 and is famous for its beautiful Gothic architecture, pointed towers, and elegant façade. One of its special features is the mechanical clock with moving figures, which performs a small show every half hour. The main figure is Count Floris V, who granted Gouda its city rights in 1272. We saw a traditional cheese market held here every Thursday morning in the spring and summer. It was fun to watch the locals toss the cheese wheels onto the cart, which then proceeded to the weigh house to weigh the cheese.
