They had an exhibition of "Bassie en Adriaan". Who were born and raised in Vlaardingen. It was more than excellent! This is a fantastic little museum. Totally recommended coming anytime, it is not particularly busy and you will get to see some interesting pieces of both art and history. Children se to also have a good time here and there is also a small space for a bite and drink. the collection is varied and well presented. Unlike other museums there is careful consideration of the lighting here. I look forward to visiting again for the new exhibition opening shortly. If you’re a fan of fishing boat models: go visit! In any other case: manage your expectations. seems un-finished with exhibition cabinets piled up in corners for no apparent reason. Went here with my 5 year old when there was a (also mildly disappointing) Playmobil exposition. Managed to entertain him for about 20 minutes and after that nothing there really was aimed at children his age. Don’t expect to visit again. Super nice with lot of history about Vlaardingen. Unfortunately, it is though for local people and only a few paintings have English description. Leaving aside that very nice place. Lovely museum. Small but cute. Can learn more about this city. Staffs are very friendly. Very nice to learn more about the local history. They also have interactive play elements for kids. The also sells quite some interesting merchandises and yes don't forget to try the cookies which is very unique. We really enjoyed our visit to Vlaardingen museum. Yes, the and the exhibition are small. Yes, there will be a lot about fishing :) However, this year Vlaardingen is celebrating its 750th anniversary, so it is a very good opportunity to learn more about the history of the city and surrounding area. I was pleasantly surprised to learn about connections to the origins of the name Holland (Hollant) and about Count (graaf) Dirk III. Here is an idea for a return visit: the also hosts a few workshops (printing) and children's activities (dinosaurs). The perfect place for presentations !
