A few kilometers down the you can find wonderful places for picnic and you can swim in the clear water. We went there with the kids. It was hot, but we still made the stroll. We saw deer and we tried to get lower to the place (hunting for a geocache). But then there was that alarm sound, similar to what the sirens for air strike sound like. So, being with the kids, being tired and soaked with sweat, we ran uphill to a safe place - we correctly concluded that the siren announce that the will be released by the dam, but we didn't know where it will be released and if we will be affected by it. Safety first, but in case you are in "Sheitan were (Шейтан дере)" and you hear the siren, be cautious, but you should know that the is released on the other end of the canyon and you can still walk there. This is an interesting and beautiful nature phenomenon. The site was part of the riverbed of Arda before the dam "Studen Kladenec" was build. As the does not flow anymore and the rock formations made by the for million of years can be observed. To me they were quite interesting. As some is released from the dam the bed is not completely dry. Some locals told us that at some places where the flows there are wholes that go as deep as 60m. I would highly recommend to people who like nature sites, geology and hiking.
