Planet Ice Leeds

Leeds, United Kingdom Ice skating rink

A nice venue to watch ice hockey in the UK. The raised seating makes it difficult to see the entire pitch during the game and there is a clear blind spot in the section of directly below your stand. The other facilities are all good and it is easy to walk around the rink. There is also a good bus route to and from the rink, making it easily accessible. Its fantastic to learn something new at my age and take me out of my comfort zone. I signed up for three half hour classes which included a drink and snack from the cafe hire and 90 minutes on the ice after the class What a bargain Great team of young people running the venue and superb quality of teaching from the mild mannered and welcoming non judgmental instructors. Thanks a million for a super experience and a fantastic way to connect with my family. Well done Dear visitors, I cannot say anything about ice hockey games, but for children this is one of the most attractive places. Here children can spend hours. Feel the cold of the ice. But everyone has a wonderful mood. They can stand on their feet on the ice. There are also clean toilets, a cafe and even a shop where you can buy skates. There are inexpensive courses for children and even adults. At first, you can rent skates. And the cost of the courses includes as well. Car for 1 pound for 2 hours. I still recommend visiting this center. It will be very interesting for children, but also for adults and students. Thank you very much. Love watching Leeds Knights play here, vibe with a good view of the wherever you are. Plenty places for drinks and people about to buy a range of tickets for games etc from. Just wish the sound system was better as the commentary isn't always the easiest to hear/understand. Ample within walking distance. Amazing atmosphere, plenty of parking, staff super helpful and friendly. Us and the group infront were really confused where we had to sit as the chairs had the wrong numbers on in section 8 A&B so that may need looking at. Foam fingers, puck competitions, drinks and food were value for money. The knights mascot was brilliant with everyone and the teams were very talented. Security were very attentive and put the audiences safety as top priority. Would love to go again! Open full year ideal place for people who like ice skating for big and small easy to book online cheap on front of building from Mon to Fri morning hours always almost empty all ice for you on the weekend busy but still available. Ideal to spend with your love, kids family and group of friends. Taken my daughter here a couple of times so far in the 6 week holidays. You get a decent amount of on the ice and I had researched the situation before attending so knew it was a pay and display car park. £2 for 3 hours was enough for the 2.5 hour session. There are plenty of signs that state is chargeable too. The lass working on the hire booth was lovely, patient and friendly and was a big help when my daughter was trying on various size skates. Some of the need a bit of TLC. We returned a second with our own and had a much better quality skate. It does get very cold when spectating so don’t be afraid to wrap up warm! Looking forward to booking some skating lessons. Not a friendly or tolerant place to learn on patch ice. Apparently figure skaters and their coaches have priority which gives them the right to purposely in your way and shout at you to move if you don't get out of their way quick enough. It doesn't matter where you go to practice on the patch ice they will not respect your right to learn to ice skate. My son was constantly being shouted at by these people and nearly hit by a figure skater doing a spin with in air . He can already but wanted to improve so he can join a ice hockey team, but obviously we will have to look at other venues now. Leeds knights atmosphere and all action. We visited Planet Ice today with our special needs camp, and even though the staff onsite hadn’t been informed in advance of our arrival, they handled everything brilliantly. From the moment we walked in, the team was kind, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming. One staff member in particular took the to chat with us, was interested in the volunteer work we do over the summer, and even complimented how well we managed the group. Their attitude made us feel truly valued, not just as customers but as people. They went the extra mile — helping wherever needed, making sure the kids were comfortable and happy, and even giving us a personal email to make future bookings easier. A big thank you to Aaron, Yasmin, Ryan, Louise, Chris, and Colin for making our visit so smooth and enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back, and highly recommend Planet Ice to anyone looking for a fun, inclusive, and friendly place to skate! If having a party here ask for Jerome what a nice guy looked after us the kids nothing was too much effort was helping and engaging a d made the party go brilliantly he told us the brake down for the and when where's and how long left took some lovely pictures out on the ice of the party group that I wasn't expecting and it was so nice Really quiet when we arrived, we collected our (lovely lady at the desk, helped us on with the skates, nothing too much trouble), directed us to the toilets and said we would be better leaving the on and walk around. We couldn’t find the toilets immediately and a nice man informed us to keeping going they were just around the corner. When we arrived a man was cleaning and said we couldn’t use them and had to walk to the ones at reception. I said we were directed to these and I’d be only 2 minutes. He responded saying we would have to go to the ones at the entrance. I said that I wasn’t going to as I had to take our back off and I’d more than likely wet myself. His response was rather rude; I’m not hanging around waiting for you I’ve got other toilets to clean. I said fair enough but it would only take 2 minutes. His temper flared, he picked up the toilet roll and marched off, this was all in front of my teenager who was looking quite upset from the intimidating behavior he displayed. We saw him later sat on a bench chatting away to other skaters, all the in the world! We were also told by another member of the team not to use the lockers as some of the staff know how to open them and we had to be careful! Grateful for the advice, which needed sharing! 12/08/2025 Had a good conversation with the General Manager today and satisfied there are robust processes in place for the lockers. It appears he is making changes (hasn’t been at the ring long) and he accepted the feedback with good grace. Review now amended to a 4 due to the after visit follow up! Really poor service, booked for a block of skating lessons for my 2 children, when went in no proper information given, no one shows you around or how to put the on, the skating lessons are really poorly structured. Got a fine being parked in disbaled bay with blue badge displayed, no one bothered to be helpful to tell you disabled not free, instead v poor unprofessional staff deflecting blame on to you, overall very unprofessional money making scammers, heard they make commision out of fines, wow. Hated it that much didn't bother going back for rest of lessons. Came as an away fan to watch the hockey, not a view, but atmosphere ABYSMAL pricing system, it's becoming completely impossible to afford to here. Go to Bradford, it's significantly cheaper and also just a better rink. A atmosphere at the finals between Leeds Knights and the Romford raiders. However, disabled is not free as I found out the hard way! So if you are parking, look for the machine as I couldn't find it! experience with my 10 year old son. Lack of locker space to store your belongings isn't ideal, it was relatively busy when we went so none were available. I know that this isn't limited to planet Ice, however I do feel that having to rent a polar bear/ support for kids at an extra cost is unfair. Would I go again? Absolutely. Would I like to not have to pay for support for my kids, yep! Staff were friendly and helpful, toilets were clean. Didn't eat there so can't comment on that. Seriously? Upping the prices AGAIN? While you do nothing to improve the rink, make things actively WORSE and drop sessions?
