Castle is set back on the edge of a well kept green surrounded by houses and mature trees. It was quiet with only one couple visiting at the same time. The is dog friendly but there’s not a lot of shade so maybe not recommended on a hot day. We spent around 20 minutes looking around the ruins. Would be a place for a on a nice day/evening but I wouldn’t plan a whole day out there. There are not really any other amenities near by. There is no set parking for the so you are forced to park on the roadside, but it wasn’t an issue as it wasn’t busy. Free, unattended castle. Just park on the roadside opposite and walk in.
