We had a family meal here recently. Lots of excellent choice on the menu and nicely cooked. I had the breads and fish and chips - great. They make a nice passion fruit martini. The building is beautiful, and the are attentive and friendly. Can definitely recommend. Atmosphere is lovely, nice and pub. Had the food three times now and its just not good. Last time the fish tasted off which I mentioned politely. This time I had the steak sandwich and it was so dry. Nothing in the sandwich that had moisture and the steak looked pleasant but was gristly. Husband liked his fish and chips and enjoyed cider. Would come for a pint just not for food. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who informed us about everything we needed to know. The bar area is so clean with a cosy fire, as it is Christmas the trees and decs were really lovely. The room was supburb, very spacious, clean and with such a comfortable bed. The seating area is very nice with a view of the hills with a stream running through them. The seating area outside we will use when we return in the spring. We definetly the Tempest Arms. Thank you all for making our stay a one. Merry Christmas. Very disappointed with my visit. I ordered the fried chicken burger, which came in a generous portion, but the taste was completely off. After a few bites, I realised the batter was made from Kellogg’s Cornflakes, which gave the chicken an odd, overly sweet flavour - more like breakfast cereal than a main meal. I had to send it back and told them I wouldn’t be paying or ordering anything else. The were polite and handled my feedback reasonably, but unfortunately the food itself was so poorly conceived that I can’t this place at all. Went for a Sunday roast. £21 for a Sunday lunch. We received literally one slither of beef, and two slithers of pork per plate. The quantity was exceptionally tight. In addition we received HALF a carrot and HALF a parsnip. Three leaves of kale and a couple of roast potatoes. We all finished our plates easily and were left feeling hungry even after 20 minutes digesting. The gravy was very tasty though. The measly portion sizes out us off ordering desert as we felt that would leave us feeling like we had been robbed even further. We have visited this pub on numerous occasions in the past but sadly this will be the last time we go. It has lost its country charm and the menu was just the basic pub food you can find anywhere. They used to have a varied and interesting menu. But now it is tiny Sunday roasts, scampi and chips, fish and chips, pie, etc. For the setting and reputation, this place has lost its soul and you can see how it is just simply a purely money making business now living off it's former good days. Overall: very disappointed Me and my Husband got married at the Tempest Arms on 20th September and our day was amazing! The and planner Natalie are so friendly and helpful and they made our day run so smoothly. The barn is beautiful and perfect for an intimate wedding. The hotel rooms are very nice and modern, beautiful decor. All our guests had the best day and commented how well the went and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend. Have visited here twice this year, both times for weddings. The venue is beautiful and the attention to detail for the weddings fantastic. The rooms are clean and comfortable with good quality extras (toiletries and tea/coffee facilities). The dog friendly room was excellent with a great outdoor space. The food is great and breakfast is one of the best cooked breakfasts we've had. Above all though is the level of service we have experienced. are friendly, professional and go above and beyond. Would definitely a visit here and we will be back! We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our wedding. From the very first enquiry right through to the big day, the communication was fantastic – always prompt, helpful, and nothing ever felt like too much hassle. Every little request we had was met with a smile and a “we can do that,” which made the whole planning process feel so much easier. On the day itself, the team were incredible. Every member of went out of their way to be helpful, and we can’t thank them enough. A special mention has to go to Natalie – she was such a calming presence and made sure everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. It really allowed us to just relax and enjoy every moment, knowing we were in such good hands. The food was absolutely exceptional – we’ve genuinely lost count of how many guests have told us how much they loved it. Along with that, so many people commented on how stunning the venue was, which made us feel so proud to have chosen it for our wedding. We’re beyond grateful for everything the team did to make our day so special. If you’re considering this venue for your wedding, we couldn’t it more highly. Fantastic position close to Skipton. The rooms are superbly appointed with everything you need and the room was serviced daily which was unexpected.
