What a nice day spent in this small town, with historical buildings, beautiful landscapes, art galleries, restaurants, and all within lakes and creaks. The history itself is impressive, and the museums give you an insight into how things would work back then. It's definitely a place to revisit every few years, with all family and or friends. Really beautiful area with loads of history. Too bad that at least on the Thursday we visited in August most of the shops were closed. The museum was open where we visited and also we just sat along the river and watched the milieu patinated by time. Beautiful historical surroundings. Great location east from Helsinki, good alternative to the better known Fiskars west of Helsinki. Easy to combine with a visit to Porvoo or Loviisa. That's so peaceful, Small and Nice city.
