We just drove into Nimes without a plan other than to see the arena. We happened to walk past this office and decided to go in. I'm very glad we did! The greeting was very friendly, we got lots of useful information - including a suggestion to ride the tram that takes you around town. Which gave us a great sense of the place and what else we wanted to see. We ended up spending most of the day in Nimes. Thanks for your kindness! The city itself . . . captivating. We loved the simple, elegant Christmas decorations. Much different than the garish way we do it in NYC. The Arena is simple awe-inspiring. And what a credit to the city for keeping it in use! We found the people, shops, parks all to be wonderful. Traffic is a little tight, but there's ample parking at a very reasonable rate. perfect Place and turnaround 😎✌ Very helpful staff who speak several languages. It was very helpful to have the information about the City Pass & the Tickets for the Tourist Train. It's a spacious walking garden in the city centre, just near the train station. I asked them about guided tours and they told me go and search for an audio guide! I just wanted information about the trains and visits that I saw they had on their website but they didn’t want to explain me anything. I saw that it had good comments about it, but personally I wouldn't recommend it. A very pleasant welcome and a lot of interesting information / advice. Giving five stars despite one misinformation that you cannot pay contactless on board of LiO buses. We travelled to Uzés, Avignon, Arles and from Remoulins and every bus has a contactless reader where you pay each time €2 for each journey. We were also told by the lio information inside the Nimes centre train station that contactless is not possible and you can only pay with cash or but tickets on their app. However, when you try to register an account on the app, the verification email never arrived. I usually don't write reviews for tourist office, but this one deserves a 5 star. They are super friendly and even have a kids play area while you wait. Nimes is wonderful. And the best place to start your visit is this wonderful official tourism office. They gave us full info and a great map. We got the two day pass. Lots to see and do here. Great English spoken also. Merci All tourist offices are our best friend. This one gave us specific directions to get to Pont du Gard via bus because Google couldn’t figure it out. Really nice staff, the guy behind the counter dedicated to us and our questions all the time necessary and he was very helpful.
