What a brilliant and my heart went out to all the magnificent there. The handlers were very about the needs and the characters of each creature. They also discussed the danger of extinction of the valuable vultures. Bonita exhibición de aves, bonitas historias para la conservación de algunas en peligro de extinción. Easy to book and plenty of parking. The are interesting, friendly and knowledgeable. Watched and learned about them then watched owls and eagles fly and land, basically at your feet, after skimming over our heads. We then walked around the outdoor housing for the birds, fed some very greedy goats and went for lunch. We all had the meal deal, sandwich with ham and cheese, egg or salad, packet of crisps, chocolate biscuit and drink for £6. ....... excellent value! It was then time for a play in the play ground, another walk around and time for the Out of Africa flyaround with about 30 birds. The two loved it and I had a whale of a time! Cant this little gem highly enough and only cost about £30 for the three of us to get in. Outstanding place, stunning birds, all so lovely obviously loved and cared for, I went to see the and could not get over their beauty, the were incredible. Highly a visit! Going back this weekend for the vulture awareness days I was initially concerened by the small enclosures of the birds, but my mind was out at ease when I was told the are out every day to fly. Well worth a visit. I particularly enjoyed the in the arena. I was gutted I couldn't stay for the grand finalé, sounds like it'd be an awesome spectacle. I'd try to time your visit to catch this last show. Good way to spend a couple of hours; the park is small though and I feel you'd struggle to spend all day here. But this isn't to detract from how good this place is, and I would absolutely return. As well as the there are some Tortoises, Meerkats and Goats! I must admit to feeling a bit dubious on arrival, as two grown adults I thought it looked like a activity, and on first entering you walk past some owls in small enclosures so I started to feel a bit sad. It’s a bit divisive, you want to see these beautiful creatures but feel a bad seeing them in cages. However! The show at 3pm, wow, the girl who hosted is vastly experienced and I learned so much. I was horrified to hear about the plight of the vultures, the end when all the wonderful soar around you , the majesty of those creatures brought a lump to my throat. Worth every penny. Only 30 minute walk back to town as well. Absolutely recommended. From 11 till 4 p.m. I was the whole time busy with watching the and watching the several shows. Very remarkable infos about vultures. The family is really dedicated to vulture and other of prey. For the whole family a really good palce to be. Second visit and even though it was at an off peak time when we’re just coming out of winter, it didn’t disappoint. collection of and fantastic, informative talks and bird displays. All the are super friendly, there’s a cute little cafe and gift shop and we had a light bite of paninis for dinner. The cost of the entry fee is super cheap considering how long you can spend there and the you can have with these incredible birds. A big focus on the plight of the vulture at the team at gauntlets do a lot of work behind the scenes to help the conservation efforts of these birds. For anyone leaving reviews saying that these are not looked after, you obviously know nothing about falconry or in general! It’s quite obvious that they are very well cared for and get plenty of flying time. Can’t wait to book one of their events and take my daughter back in the summer to see the even more impressive, end of day display, where dozens of the are left to fly around the outdoor arena - it always chokes me up as it’s such a beautiful display! Thanks Gauntlets! day had by the three of us! day out! The were extremely about all the birds. We saw all the talks, and the thoroughly enjoyed it too. little place! I initially came with my husband on an which we both enjoyed, I was unsure what to expect but it was great! A lot of valuable information and enthusiasm of the members were outstanding. Then next I brought the kids. I knew that the place itself isn't very big and the are kids, my plan B was that we might pop out for lunch elsewhere (if we were ok to leave and return)... But we have stayed inside all the time (11 until almost 4) and we were kept busy! Apart from looking at the and watching the shows, we used the playground, had snacks outside and warm drinks inside, looked for specific birds, watched the film and the time just flew! One of the keeps talking about Robin the vulture so they definitely took some things in. We will be back! We had a really wonderful day visiting all the at Gauntlet, it was really to hear about their focus on conservation and the work they do for of prey. The were and you could easily spend the day here with the cafe and a play area. We're looking forward to coming back for the summer shows. Absolutely wonderful day out! The were spectacular! The clearly cared about the and were and friendly. Well worth a visit, I'll be going again! with many of prey. Owners/ very friendly and - they absolutely love their and it shows. Fantastic day out. A stunning selection of unusual birds, a learning with and interesting keepers. Something for a family of all ages It was a really good day out and it was good value, lots of of prey to see and we saw three of the displays. They put on plenty of displays (4 when I went) and the girl doing the display presentation was and kept it interesting. They also have meerkats and goats on display too. I went for the day and I paid for my son to do it too. I thought it was a little expensive in the beginning but I ended up thinking it was worth it after the hour was up. We handled four of prey ( 2 owls, an American vulture and a Harris hawk) and loved every minute of it. The hawk was our favourite bird in the centre. The centre is also helping with reintroducing the sea eagle back into Britain and is taking part in a breeding program for them. They had a sea eagle on display and it is one impressive bird. Absolutely fabulous evening with Owls and Friends. The knowledge of the hosts was excellent and interaction from a wide range of was great. Lovely birthday treat. included dinner, soft drink and cake. enjoyed the playground and ice cream. We will be back. We had a really good few hours here with flight of various of prey. The handlers were extremely and informative. Lovely family run business, would highly recommend. Absolutely fantastic family day out so many to see plus the displays by the were wonderful and full of facts about the different Species of bird I would definitely recommend. day out! The are incredibly and give fascinating talks. The bird are a must-see, and the care they show for the is truly evident. It’s also that they’re raising awareness of critically endangered like the vulture — I had no idea they were so at risk. At first impressions you'd never know this place is as good as it is. Nestled close to, and sharing a car park with a garden centre, this place is a hidden gem. The keepers are all so friendly, and informative. The are kept well and in condition. The closing show was really a surprise and a sight to be seen too! The whole place is just brilliant. My partner and I did the half day vulture and it was wonderful, I'd it to all. Getting up close and personal with the was great, and are so undervalued! We had Dylan for the most part who was so personable; he was so easy to speak to and made the whole day enjoyable, a real laugh. The conservation work this place does is fantastic. In the wild are being killed in their hundreds by humans, this place is working hard to fight that, as well as supporting the building of and introduction of other species into the wild where lost or endangered. I cannot sing their praises enough, you just need to go and it for yourselves Absolutely place outstanding from start to finish. display and talks about the birds. Really enjoyed the vip well worth the money. were the whole day was amazing. We will be coming back again in the summer We went today and had the most fantastic experience. I loved every minute of the and will definitely be visiting again Amazing day!! Bernadette After visiting last year we returned today to do the "Ultimate Eagle Experience" and it was absolutely amazing. You don't need to book an to enjoy Gauntlet though as there are 3 flying per day included in the general admission ticket, which at £12.50 (adult) is value for money. I really can't praise Gauntlet highly enough, we are already planning our next visit. Went in expecting to see a few cute but there was so much more to it than that, we stayed all day for the various and learnt a lot about conservation. Save the vulture! Had the best day apart from the rain! Staff are and the talks about all the was really good! All the are so well cared for and was so good seeing them so close up. Highly recommended for a day out will definitely go again when the weather is better Went there with family, and it turned out to be one of the best bird parks and bird that we have been to.
