As I was waiting for my drink before leaving, a guard motioned toward the door, seemingly indicating that I had to go. I tried to explain that I was just waiting for my drink, but he ignored me. Thinking he couldn’t hear me over the noise, I lightly touched his shoulder to get his attention. Still, no response. I assumed he didn’t care and walked back to the bar—then, out of nowhere, two guards aggressively grabbed me. One held my arms while the other started punching me. I had no way to defend myself. Then, they tackled me to the ground and began choking me with extreme force—I was suffocating, screaming for help, and genuinely believed I was going to die. The choking was so severe that I lost consciousness, and at one point, I felt them trying to dislocate my shoulder. I wasn’t violent, nor did I intend to cause any harm, yet they escalated the situation to a level of brutality that was completely unjustified. I survived, but I truly believe that if someone less physically strong had been in my position, they could have been seriously injured or even killed. After what felt like forever, they finally let go and threw me out of the bar. My girlfriend tried to intervene, but they restrained her. My friend pleaded with them, saying their actions were unnecessary, but they ignored him too. This wasn’t just excessive force—it was reckless, dangerous, and completely unacceptable. If this is how they handle a simple misunderstanding, I fear what they could do in another situation. Be extremely careful if you go here. the guardian was so rude and misogynistic, when he told me to take off my jacket i told him that i don’t want to because i felt cold, he pushed me away from the with force. when my male friend told that he doesn’t want to take off his jacket, the guardian just said “ok” and left. i think you should fire a curly short guardian who worked 16-17.12. Anyways, compared to the staff, the international students are okay/manageable. If you are in Leeuwarden and you want to have fun and be surrounded with respectful and people, you should go to the alley nearby and stay in a bar there or bar-hop. The there are way more willing to attend you and help you in a respectful way if you lose something. Or when you have a question/request. Maybe you guys (Bascule) can take an example of them. Er werkt hier een vreselijke beveiliger die je zonder fatsoenlijk gesprek en respect zeer agressief de uitzet. Het uitzetten gebeurd zelfs zonder geldige reden. Gebruikt hierbij onnodig veel agressie, met dagen pijn en blauwe plekken van het knijpen tot gevolg. Grijpt bij het verwijderen uit de kroeg ook een vrouw bij de voorgevel. Betreft een mannelijke beveiliger van Turkse afkomst, gezichtsbeharing en circa 1,80m. Niet de meest intelligente medewerker van de zaak.
