Overall we liked it very much and had a great weekend here. The apartment itself is modern, had separate bedrooms for kids and parents, a small living room and fully equipped kitchen. There is a store which sells a few necessities and basic foodstuffs, in particular also eggs, fresh bread and freshly squeezed orange juice. There is also a restaurant at with good food. Other than that: There is a large sand playground next to the restaurant and one can borrow various toys for free. Bikes can be rented on site in many varieties (incl. bakfiets, tandem and kids bikes). The parking has free electric vehicle chargers. Walking distance to the beach and the birds. Great camping spot. I like the bread ordering concept. Not all the rooms can be heated up through the central heating so bring warm pyjamas. Or a fiery personality. The cottages here are surprisingly roomy, with a equipped kitchen, and ample space for bags, bikes, etc. The interior design is very pleasing, and it is within a stone's throw of wonderful beaches, restaurants, cafes and, of course, the lighthouse. Where we were not impressed was the brasserie. One of the orders, for a party of 6, was forgotten and when we asked about it, we were treated very rudely. In fact, the whole service was abominable. We definitely do not recommend eating there. (Pease choose one of the great eating establishments in one of the villages. This place is all about the location, which is excellent. The bungalows are ok, although sparsely furnished and decorated. The mattrasses are SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE though, woke up every morning with a sore back. Its like sleeping on a big spunge. In this price category the beds really should be better. Lots of sand everywhere for the kids to play in and a good playground at the reception. Also quite a few kids activities. It was our first time at Roompot Ameland. It was worth every penny we paid. The service was great! The ladies at the reception were kind and professional. They informed us about how everything worked and about what was going on in the park and the island. The vacation home was clean. We enjoyed the peace and quietness in the park. It is pet friendly and we will surely return next year. Overall it was a beautiful and peaceful experience. The surroundings are lovely, and the location is ideal for a relaxing getaway especially for nature lovers. However we were there during warm and sunny days, and the bungalows got very hot inside. Unfortunately there was no air conditioning and when I asked about a fan we were told they only have a few available and they had already been taken by other guests. It would be really helpful if each bungalow could at least be equipped with a fan during the warmer months, as the heat made it quite uncomfortable at times. Other than that, the stay was great, but just be aware if you’re visiting in the summer prepare for warm indoor temperature and maybe bring your own fan. SCAM! Be carful booking a house Engelsmanduinvilla 6, House 18. They advertise this house with very nice pictures of a modern, nice House. The reality was a really old house in very bad shape. It was dirty, smelt Bad and everything there was at least 20 years old and was not taken care of. The Whirlpool was horribly covert with dirt and mold, the kitchen smeld so Bad we had to buy an airfreshning Spray and use it every day. The list goes on and on. And that for a high price!! After a a few Mails the Service gave us 40€… be carful, the photos on their website are absolutly misleading. We will absolutly come back to Ameland but never ever to Roompot Had room 110 with my dad, mom and 2 pups, a little duck came over the first day, and then the upcoming days aswell, eventually bringing her husband and a seagull.
