One Tree Monastery

This is one of the most special monasteries in Romania. It has a wooden made from one oak tree and inside you may find a lot of religious icons. Near that there are other oak trees, hundreds years old. The stone is absolutely splendid, with lots of colours and decorations. Inside there is a special icon of Marie, very old and very beautiful. The has been restored before world war 2 by an army general and there are lots of such inscriptions. Un loc de liniște și pace ! Un loc îngrijit și curat ! Daca tot vii la bai treci si pe aici sa te rogi si sa te relaxezi, in acest loc plin de aer curat si liniste .Aici este un ansamblu de biserici dedicate aviatorilor si marinarilor . Biserica de lemn din varf de deal este cocheta cu un aer misterios ,sa zic asa, datorita icoanelor foarte vechi pictate pe lemn si pe care de abia se mai vad chipurile sfintilor . Biserica din curte este in stilul vechi nu prea mare dar are unele din cele mai mari icoane pe care le am vazut la o manastire de acest fel . Se mai afla o biserica in constructie . Parcarea este mare si umbrita . Acest ansamblu de biserici merita vizitat daca esti in zona It was a groovy destination with an interesting history dating back all the way to the 14th century, Certainly worth a stop especially if you have an interest in the history of the monasteries across Romania Definitely worth a detour to see this place. Impressive, peaceful place for worship, significantly expanded since my previous back in 1984, through the contribution of its traditional patrons, sailors and pilots. Exquisite manicured gardens, restored main and small wooden guarded by centuries old oak trees. Great place to and to pray! Really and quiet place, both churches are absolutely stunning. The one tree made of oak and the stone are both worth seeing, there is a flower garden and bird bath at the entrance. The birdbath as we entered the courtyard had a couple of pigeons taking advantage on an otherwise very hot day. The "Monastery made by one wood" is a very quiet religious and historical place to and pray, the landscape is amazing and the monastery is well maintained... Vechimea bisericuței dintr-un sigur stejar (lemn) îți dă fiori. Simți efectiv vibrația benefică a sutelor de măicuțe care s-au rugat aici pentru binele tuturor. Recomand locul pentru o experiență specială și nu în ultimul rând pentru fotografii pline de culoarea aranjamentelor florale realizate de măicuțe. You reach a place where silence is deeper than in other places, peace takes place in your heart as you just sit and inhale. Very mystical :). The One Tree Monastery is small and we could observe it only from outside. Because of it I took my time and enjoyed the carvings and the building technics it was made with. Peaceful and filled with love is this place :). Recommend, but please take your time and sit in it’s yard for a few minutes and enjoy, don’t just look at it in a rush 😊! Amazing location to Foarte frumoasa From our monastery’s trip from Valcea County this was the most impressive. By heart, by soul, by size, by peacefulness. The gem is hidden in the back where you get by walking trough the flower yard and climb a small hill guarded by secular oaks. The monastery yard is the resting place for monks and nouns who served here. It was closed inside , but you could admire the sculpture from outside. A chill monastery with surroundings, where one can light a candle and take some holy water. It is an extremely place to go to, with a interesting history and a relaxing feeling. We simply loved it here, you can feel so much positive energy, the place itself, especially the on the top of the stairs, the old one, is amazing and such a bliss to visit. Bless you all!
