Kind of strange place with historical background. Kindly note, that can be done only with natural things (so no plastic, metal and etc.). Keep nature clean. We stopped by Ristimägi for its sad story. It is an area covered with mostly wooden simple along a narrow dirt road. Initially, Ristimägi was the place where people leaving the island went to make - as did the Swedes of Reiki who Tsarina Catherine II removed to southern Ukraine 1781. They left goodbyes to their home which the they had housed at least 400 years. Now are mostly made by those who come to the island for the first time. The Cross Hill has a fascinating story behind it, but the atmosphere can feel a bit eerie and creepy to walk around. I'd recommend visiting during the daytime, as it's definitely not a place to explore at the end of the day or night. The history is intriguing, but the setting might leave you feeling uneasy after dark. Parking is plentiful at the start of the road. Many crosses. Kinda creepy but absolutely must visit, just not at the night. Passeggiata particolare, ma poco valorizzata. It's a custom to make your own cross here using any available natural materials. Awesome sightseeing for a drive by. There is a story on the board about what is a cross hill. Loads of everywhere. No pay, parking area, easy access. More of a cross forest than hill, but very charming nevertheless. Bring rope! And maybe a couple sticks from across the road. It had a lot of I mean a lot of them, it had a explanatory history of it too and still I wish I could research it a lot more because it has quite interesting history A very, very interesting place. At first, when you walk inside the forest, you do not even pay attention to the small crosses, because they look like old bushes. But when you notice, that you are surrounded by different type and size of crosses, it gets kind of spooky, but really interesting. The locals can also tell some legends about this place.
