I studied here from 2021 to 2022 for my Master's degree. Unfortunately, my was very disappointing. After being admitted, I was provided with a specific study program, which was a key factor in my decision. I relocated from another country, paid a €3000 non-refundable deposit, and made major life changes. Just one week before classes started, the informed me that the had changed significantly—different name, different courses, many of which I did not want or need. My only options were to accept the new or cancel my and lose the deposit. There were other broken promises, such as included German classes that never happened. The curriculum was changed again mid-program without student input, making it even less relevant for me. requirements were also altered without notice, causing my first submission to fail and delaying my graduation by 6 months. Communication with the student support team was poor—they often did not respond to emails. I do not recommend this based on my experience. I was expecting to graduate on July 29th, 2025. I had my colloquium scheduled—my advisor had given me approval a month prior—and all of a sudden, just two days before my dissertation, it was canceled. Without giving me any feedback, I was told I had to start my all over again for a second attempt. On top of that, I now have to pay 7,440 euros for an extra year, since they will only allow me to submit my again in January 2026. This is outrageous. I have not received a single piece of support or feedback—my advisor doesn't reply to emails, nor does the exams office. This feels like a scam after two years of completing my master's coursework. I’m very sorry this happened to me. Please take my seriously and do not enroll in this university. There are plenty of other, far better online universities out there. UPDATE August 12-20205- They hang up the phone when I try to call them and they don't reply emails. This is a scam. This is a complete disappointment. They make careless mistakes and don’t take any responsibility. For example, my master application got rejected because they said my supervisor wasn’t approved — even though I chose him from their official list and showed proof. They ignored my emails and gave no clear answer. Now I’m stuck waiting with no solution. A screenshot of their email that proves they made a mistake and I couldn’t start my master’s as I planned because of their mistake. Their online exam system is also a mess, full of errors. The staff often make mistakes but never admit it or fix them quickly. It’s almost impossible to get a straight answer or help when you need it. I have wasted my money, my time, and my mental health dealing with their poor organization and bad support. Save yourself the trouble and don’t study here. Do NOT sign a with this university. I did a trial as I waited for my admission documents to be processed. I waited over 2 just to be told I did not meet requirements. My high school grades were not high enough. I cancelled my immediately and was charged for 3 of tuition... OVER 1000 Euros. Please watch out for yourself. Do not recommend this university. 🚨 Beware of this SCAM University! 🚨 I was a distance learning student here for 4 years and this has been the worst of my life. I spent around €20,000 on this degree. In my final semester, when only a few subjects were left, they failed me by just 1 mark and terminated me from the program. I had come so far, only to be treated like this. They keep changing their policies again and again, just to trap students into paying more money. They always make excuses, create delays, and find ways to stop you from graduating. I was forced to pay €500 even after being removed. As a student, that amount is not easy to manage. It’s been over 6 months, I have been emailing them, and they are simply not responding. This is not education it’s exploitation. Check the other Google reviews I’m not the only one. So many students have had the same experience. That’s why they’ve even shut down their online programs. Embassies are rejecting visas because even they know this can’t provide quality education anymore. 👉 Please be careful. Don’t fall into this trap. Save your money, your time, and your future. This is a SCAM. Scam!! Beware!! You will waste your and money in this institute and you will not get anything in the end! They will trap you with easy admission, but you won’t even get a proper degree in the end. IU has no proper system, degrees are delayed or not issued at all, staff is unresponsive, and the level of education is extremely poor. Embassies are rejecting visas because they don’t trust IU’s disorganized structure. Think twice before wasting your future here. It’s a high to file complaint against them together Please avoid this at all costs. Do not enroll under any circumstances. I studied online at IU for 3 years and was only a few away from completing my program. Suddenly, I was expelled due to an unpaid invoice - an invoice I never even received. I had no idea it existed. No warnings, no prior communication, just kicked out. In April, I applied again for the trial period, hoping they’d allow me to rejoin the and complete my studies at least within a year. However, after some time, it became clear that they weren’t willing to make any exceptions or offer any real support. As a result, I chose not to proceed with the full registration. I didn’t submit the additional documents, reasonably assuming that without completing all formal steps, the enrollment would not be finalized. Then, out of nowhere, I received an invoice. When I asked what it was for, they told me it was because I had signed a contract. But they only sent me that so-called on July 2, and marked it as “BINDING.” I don’t even remember signing anything. But even if I did, under the law, they were obligated to provide me with a confirmation or a copy of the signed immediately - definitely not notify me about it two later. They are openly violating German law by claiming, for example, that simply gaining access to course materials is equivalent to signing a binding contract. This is legally incorrect. Just accessing content does not fulfill these legal requirements. Their interpretation is completely misleading and serves only to pressure students into paying without proper legal basis. This feels like a scam. P.S. I’ve read many similar reviews, and IU always responds by saying these experiences "don’t meet the university’s high standards.” Believe me — they absolutely do. Save your money! I have been studying in IU for a year so far. I must say I haven't experienced any problems yet, and the team was very supportive and approchable. All my questions were answerd promptly, and help was provided within a short period of time. The materials are all well structured and easy to work with. Certain video lectures or online classes I find less useful, but overall my is positive and fulfilling.
