We took the gondola in the summer to get on the top for a hiking tour. Sadly we hiked too long as the gondola closed already at 5pm. In summer it could have opened longer than in winter. But it was a experience .. all in shape. Station de Chamrousse is a big resort but busy. It has plenty of red and black runs, quite a few blue runs and just a few big green runs. Some of the are open at night under floodlight. Learning is easier at Autrans Snow Stadium, with flatter beginner slopes. Autrans Snow Stadium is also much cheaper for ski passes. Chamrousse has dedicated free sledging and one fast sledging slope with a dedicated lift, that you pay by the hour. Chamrousse has a beautiful scenic view. Incredible. A lesser known ski resort that has enough for everyone of every level. Plenty of restaurants, an exceptional ski school and lots of accommodation choices. Massively recommended! Not too big, not too small, featuring a beautiful scenic landscape, perfectly equipped pistes nested between trees, with nice teachers, a ambiance, shops, even restaurants such as the 76, very few dangers. Only drawbacks: not enough buses and often some poor coffees. Très belle station je recommande vivement cette endroit pour toutes vos glissades ou faire de la luge Lovely resort. I can't say much about the office de tourism as I didn't need them but I must say all that's to be said about ESF, located at the same place. I think they need some competition because they speak and act with almost, if no regard at all to the customer. At least I felt this way more than once. Their software for bookings takes forever, we can never check anything by ourselves. There's always a queue and a not so friendly face to meet at the end of it. *The coaches are amazing and professional* But getting to hire one of them is a pain as far as I can remember. Really! This monopoly called ESF should face some competition so the customers could benefit from better services. Merci! The runs are a bit more challenging but its one of those area’s that allow you to work your way up in difficulty without getting lost going out onto a piste harder than what you can handle. The gondola kept people moving without slowing down because of folks falling off the lift, and I rarely felt like there was too much cluttering out on the slopes. They didn’t shut the mountain down when visibility got a bit fraught which was also really as those of us who liked challenging ourselves in a new environment got the opportunity to do so. i also liked how friendly they were to letting you go off piste to keep increasing the challenge. Really really cool resort and one I wouldn’t mind visiting again. If you are looking for an easier-intermediate resort, or one to begin your off-piste challenges this is the one for you! I was looking for my lost phone, found it In the end with help from staff, the were for beginners, and some steeper slopes, fair price and not too busy J'ai skié là la première fois il a 45 ans. Nécessairement chamrousse est pour moi plus qu'une simple station de ski, un pan de vie. J'habite loin maintenant, en Bretagne, mais quand je peux je reviens skier ici, en particulier parce que la formule ski 4h me convient parfaitement 😃 Amazing place. I dont know how to ski but i enjoyed my walk 😍😍. The la croix restaurant at the top was really nice but with a long line. So after your first order if you want anything more, you will have to join the queue again. Otherwise it was 😋 💯‼️ They should barricade their seating area with nets to control the littering from the restaurant.
