What a place for a walk. Had to keep my dog on the lead around the main part of the country park, but then when walking through the more wooded ways, I could let him off. As you can see from my photos there are some sights. The waterfall from the bridge is a sight. There is also a large field and a playpark for children. There are two car parks. One is large and you have to pay and display. This one is close to the playpark. The other parking area is free, but only spaces for around 8 cars. I'd definitely recommend taking a around here with or without children and dogs. I took a 25 from Neath Train station to the park, it was a up from the entrance and the views are beautiful. Parking is chargeable, there are toilets and a there. Great play for kids and it's dog friendly too. The lake is a place to sit and watch the wildlife and there are of benches around. Great place to get out in nature and recharge. It's one of the awesome near Neath. It 8s considered to be a great spot for families, especially children. Lake, trees play grounds are together with awesome greenery. Some construction is going on for future lake view restaurant . Been today for a good with my two dogs. Car was £3 and paid by card. Had a good through the woods and then around the main pond. of poo bins and fairly decent underfoot in the wood part of the walk. Dogs enjoyed it. Building and construction works ongoing at the time but there’s a and toilets in a temporary cabin with seating outside. Children’s play area and of open space for picnics and there’s marked out proper paths to around the lake as well as some woodland trails. Great to let your dog run free off lead, not too muddy and not too busy mid week. Pokémon stops & gyms everywhere. Little serving a variety of meals and drinks. An absolute gem of a place! of woodland walks to explore, so scenic and peaceful. Handy at the centre that serve the basics. Prices are a bit steep for food and drink but the surroundings make up for it. The lakes are well kept plus there's loads of seating and tables in the fields. This has something for everyone. of Parking available at £3 per car for 4hours.. There's a lot of Building Improvements being carried out at this moment. Well worth a visit with walks. Canadian geese, Mallards present along with other type ducks. of seated areas to relax around the largest pond. Two play-grounds for the children.. Temporary Toilets and on-site. Great few hours walking with the kids and dog.. Lots of areas to explore. One star off as parking isn't cheap. A to around. We visited during half term and it was surprisingly quiet. The grounds are very well maintained and beautiful. Most of the footpaths are wheelchair/pushchair friendly. It depends how far into the woods etc you go. I did find it difficult to work out where the paths lead and there wasn't any clear visible map to show the where what lead so we ended up pushing the pram up a hill which then became rocky and a bit more off road. The paths around the lakes and grounds were fine. Just would of been handy to have had a map of the showing routes and if they are suitable for prams. Parking was £2.80 for up to 4 hours which was reasonable. I wouldn't probably spend longer than that there. There is two fairly sized which are both very well maintained and suitable for different age groups. My 4 year old loved playing in both of them. There was also a at the entrance where you can have some food and icecream. There was picnic benches by the car but would of been handy to have more further into the then just regular benches but there was of room for picnics so remember to take a picnic blanket! A place for and picnic with family. Unfortunately we did not see the water as it was dry and also the weather took bad turn and it got cold. What a spot! The ruins are fabulous and informative, excellent little on site and reasonably priced, scenery all around and of space so you can keep away from others if you want, so much to explore will take multiple visits. around the lake place to walk, very scenic. Take mental notes of where you’ve been, as you can easily get lost in the shrubs. Nearly had to start a new life but thankfully found a footpath👍🏻 The is quiet considering the size, absolutely love the fact that every 100 / 200 yards they have a bench all the way around the Gnoll Lake, as this enabled my elderly parents to have breaks on each bench which they greatly needed. This enabled them to enjoy the full around the Lake, being it that the benches were there in place, all other places should follow suite and learn from this park.. The grassy areas are clean fresh and for families snd kids to let off some pepped up energy.. The café was a surprise, and served refreshments which on a hot day were very appreciated.. There's toilets there also which are tented to and nicely kept clean and usable. There are of spaces in the carpark and tarmac so no maddy feet last thing getting into vehicles. There's a couple of children's there with their usual fun Obstacles and climbing frames to keep the little ones entertained while you relax and take in the fresh air and scenery of swans and young ducklings on the Lake. Last of all, check the billboard maps there dotted around as there are lots of forestry trails to venture on and some old building and structures with an historical background..Enjoy.. of parking space think it was £3 for 4 hours, I went for a along the trails really enjoyed it scenery I was pleasantly surprised on my visit here! There was so much to do with two one appropriate for older children and one for younger. There were also activities throughout the country walk. I look forward to returning! Really place to visit with kids two playgrounds big fields lake and there's a coffee shop there closes at 4pm though so don't go too late its actually being redeveloped at the moment but there are temporary cabins but it will look really good when its done 👍 place to look at mushrooms, friendly walkers, lots of places to explore and the community try their best to take care of it. If you're afraid of dogs like me, be careful. Most don't leash their dogs nor have good recall (despite the multiple signposts). I've had dogs aggress on me multiple times here and the owners often laugh it off or look at you weird for having a negative reaction. There are some good owners, but few and far between. Many also don't pick up their dog shit so be on the look out.
