If you need some quiet place after days of crowded beaches this is the right choice. A jump in the nature for a refreshing walk through trekking paths under the shadow of woods, mainly evergreen oak. Proper shoes are needed. Paths are easy and difference in height really modest. At the starting point there is an info point for tourists and chance to rent a bike. Read carefully opening hours. There are no bars or shops but at least a fountain to fill up your bottles. There is a huge picnic areas with tables and seats and small playground area for children. Free Parking lot available at the entrance. Nice park, well maintained paths and quite well signposted too. Enjoyable morning's walk. Would make a nice place to walk a dog or even children. A variety of walks following colour coded routes with a couple of points of interest on the way including an ancient cistern and charcoal making site. Never much wildlife about. Extended picnic area and play area for kids for a nice afternoon out of town. Nice woods with various hiking paths. It's not very big, but it is one of the few natural forests (as opposed to the ones that were planned in reforestation projects) in the area. Green oasis in Puglia, perfect place for long walks and trekking in nature. Small paths can lead you to unexpected views like this one. I think this is one the best natural parks in Puglia. I'll definitely be back for some running sessions. Please, keep it clean 🌳🙂! Very pleasant forest with lots to discover and to enjoy. Beautiful green nature within a dry region of Puglia. Choose between the accessible ‘highway’ paths or the more adventurous sentiero’s. First time ever we went there it was enough crowded (occupied by Scout groups). Though second time around was different experience. Since there were very few people in the Bosco, we could enjoy more and listen to nature’s sound. We had a great picnic, took a nap (almost meditated and slept off) and walked into the woods. Pleasant experience and a quick get away from Taranto. Note- no pre-booking of tables, first come first take basis as the tables and benches are freely allocated around the Bosco. Decent toilet (carry the essentials though). No barbecues allowed.
