You just have to cover your head with a piece of clothe and wash your feet and hands you are ready to go inside and feel the God. Extremely well maintained Gurudwara (Sikh Temple). When we come back from India then here who have come from India also get support and forget their sorrows. Bole So Nihaal Sat Sri Akal One of the best gurudwara (Sikh temple) I have visited in Europe. Highly organised, lovely sangat and amazing kirtan on Sundays. Gurudwraa is open everyday till 8:00 with kirtan 6-6.30 every evening and Sundays divan js full day with kirtan from 10:00am onwards. Volunteers and sangat makes this gurudwara one of the best. Do visit if you are in Lisbon. It was great to see a bustling Sikh community in Lisbon. The gurdwara is very close to the airport. Our driver very kindly provided us with a detour before our flight. A very clean and peaceful environment for meditation. I congratulate each and everyone who contributed in making and maintaining this serene establishment. Toilets were filthy, stinking, with no toilet paper; there were warning notices with pictures of who had been caught stealing shoes, notices warning visitors not to leave their belongings unattended, Carpets in the langgar Hall had not been washed for months, if not years, we were rudely told that we could not stand and drink tea but had to sit on the dirty Carpets and were also prevented from taking pictures in the Darbar hall. Gurdwara appears to be under the control of fanatical pendus from India who lack basic manners and fundamental Sikh values. You get a lot of peace by coming here. Very good place and prashad was also very tasty. I was walking under the hot sun for hours, tired, out of money, and simply needed some fresh water. Instead of receiving basic human respect, I was treated like a criminal the moment I reached the door. Two men interrogated me aggressively, asked me the same questions repeatedly, and searched my entire body and belongings like I was a thief or drug addict — all for asking for water. I was completely sober, polite, and respectful, explained clearly that I was just thirsty and needed water, but they showed me zero basic kindness. They even made disrespectful comments about my religion (I am Hindu) and compared it to places of worship that supposedly allow with alcohol — outrageous and insulting. After humiliating me, they finally let me inside and said there was no food left, though I never asked for food. I managed to drink two glasses of water after being made to feel like a beggar or criminal. This was my first visit to a Gurdwara, and sadly it exposed how some abuse their authority at places of worship. I always heard Gurdwaras are welcoming to everyone, but clearly, this one chooses who deserves dignity. Deeply disappointed and shocked by the disrespectful treatment.
